ASBC Future Stars – Indonesia’s best talent 19-year-old Maikhel Roberrd Muskita

Indonesia’s new sensation Maikhel Roberrd Muskita was near to qualify to the Tokyo Olympic Games at the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event in Amman short after his 19th birthday. The teenage middleweight (75kg) hope is Indonesia’s best future hope in our combat sport who trains hard since the Qualifier to achieve his goals.

Muskita was born in Ambon, Maluku on January 11 in 2001 and began his boxing career at the age of 8 in 2009. He won the Indonesian Junior National Championships in 2015 and the Popda Junior National Games one year later. Muskita joined to the youth boxers in 2017 and quickly won their National Championships in that age group.

Muskita competed at the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and also at the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which experiences paid off in his first elite events. Muskita won the Indonesian President’s Cup, claimed bronze medals at the China Belt & Road Tournament and at the Lviv Boxing Cup in Ukraine following his first elite national title.

The Indonesians hosted the last edition of the Asian Games in Jakarta two years ago which supported the developments of their boxers. Muskita was involved to the Indonesian team which attended at the Asian & Oceanian Olympic Boxing Qualifying Event in Amman. The young middleweight (75kg) hope won two preliminary fights and lost only his Olympic Box-off against a more experienced Mongolian boxer. “I returned to the full term trainings with running, shadowboxing and sparring to prepare myself to the next objectives. I have built my spirit again and I am proud of the Asian Boxing Confederation’s interest about my career,” said Indonesia’s teenage sensation Maikhel Roberrd Muskita to the ASBC.
