The ASBC Women Commission Meeting
The Women Commission Meeting of the Asian Boxing Confederation was held in Wulanchabu, China during the rest day of the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships.
The Chairman of the ASBC R&J Commission Ms. Liang Yuan of China welcomed all of the participants in the meeting: Marina Ni of Kazakhstan, Karina Picson of the Philippines and Kyongsun Lee of Korea. ASBC Executive Director Mr. Bagdaulet Turekhanov did his welcome speech in the meeting and following that the members discussed the main topics of their area.
Ms. Liang Yuan was previously member of the ASBC Women Commission and she is the International Director of the Chinese Boxing Federation while she is well known in the boxing tournaments.
“Asia has got strong boxers in the women part of the sport, our athletes claimed several titles in the AIBA events from the junior up to the elite age groups. We have got good history but we are thinking to raise this level to keep our leading position. Actually 28 nations have got women boxing in the continent and the ASBC Women Commission is working on it hard to raise that number.
We have discussed about the introduction of women boxing to involve more nations and also about the history of the sport. We are facing with difficulties hosting women events and trying to pay the attention to our current men tournament to add female competition to their competition.
One of our main goal is to raise the number of the women boxing competitions and the number of the Asian participants in the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and also in the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships. We had some negotiations also with the AIBA Boxing Academy to train our athletes there where he can find the best possibilities.
We are thinking about a solution to involve the Western Asian Islamic countries to women boxing to wear some special uniform in the boxing events. We have to raise the number of the women R&Js in the continent,” said China’s Liang Yuan the Chairman of the ASBC R&J Commission.

The ASBC R&J Commission Meeting
The Refereeing & Judging Commission Meeting of the Asian Boxing Confederation was held at the Centara Grand Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on the rest day of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.
The Chairman of the ASBC R&J Commission Mr. Sukku Kang of Korea welcomed all of the participants in the meeting and followed that ASBC President Mr. Serik Konakbayev did his welcome speech and mentioned the main goals of the future projects of the Asian Boxing Confederation while he let the members know about the new slogan of ASBC: “Together we are power.”
Mr. Homayoun Ardalan of Iran and Mr. Wan Abdul Hamid Bin Wan Mahmood of Malaysia are the continuous members of the ASBC R&J Commission. The new members of the commission are Mr. Hemantha Weerasinghe of Sri Lanka, Mr. Abdul Majali of Jordan and Mr. Aslan Igubayev of Kazakhstan.
Mr. Sukku Kang the Chairman of the ASBC R&J Commission is a very experienced official who has been working for boxing since decades.
“We have got New AIBA Rules about warnings and disqualifications which need to be adopted very quickly to improve our knowledges. There will be a new system about the AIBA R&J which will be starting soon and we need to know how it will be effect our work in the ring or in the ringside. One of the most important change the national level R&Js will be turning to AIBA 1-star R&Js and the whole system will be amended a bit. This change will be supporting our communication and understand clearly our level system. We are improving our ASBC R&J Statistics and supporting also our talents in this side of the sport,” said Mr. Sukku Kang the Chairman of the ASBC R&J Commission.

The ASBC Coach Commission Meeting
The Coach Commission Meeting of the Asian Boxing Confederation was held at the Centara Grand Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand on the rest day of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships.
The Chairman of the ASBC Coach Commission Mr. Patricio Gaspi of the Philippines welcomed all of the participants of the current meeting. ASBC President Mr. Serik Konakbayev did also his welcome speech and mentioned the main goals of the future projects of the Asian Boxing Confederation while he let the members know about the new slogan of ASBC: “Together we are power.”
Members of the ASBC Coach Commission Mr. Saroj Eamwaranan of Thailand, Mr. Hosseingholi Nahroudi or Iran and Mr. Nurgali Safiullin or Kazakhstan were also added their thoughts during the discussion.
The Chairman of the ASBC Coach Commission Mr. Patricio Gaspi is a 3-star AIBA coach in the Philippines and has been serving his nation’s and Asia’s boxing life since many years.
“The ASBC Coach Commission has got new members and we had to renew earlier part of the year but we are thinking about a lot of developments and cooperations. The Asian continent has got great coaches but comparison to Europe we have to raise the number of the 3-star coaches in the upcoming era.
The AIBA World Boxing Academy is located in Asia in Kazakhstan where we are planning to held training camps between our members to use up the great facilities and the best conditions in Almaty. We have to adopt the new rules and boxing is in changing therefore our main task to acclimatize to the fighting style very quickly,” said Mr. Patricio Gaspi the Chairman of the ASBC Coach Commission.

The ASBC Medical Commission Meeting
The Medical Commission Meeting of the Asian Boxing Confederation was held in Wulanchabu, China during the rest day of the ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships.
Chairman of the ASBC Medical Commission is Mr. Victor Kim of Kazakhstan who is also member of the AIBA Medical Commission. Professionals from China, Mongolia, Bangladesh and Japan took part in the ASBC Medical Commission Meeting in the Inner Mongolian region of China.
“Some of our members in the ASBC Medical Commission are new but all of them are professional in boxing. The medical assistance of the boxers is more important today after our athletes had to remove their head guards but our results are enough good following that decision but we need more analysis in the future.
The medical assistance of our experts are in different areas, in case of brain injuries, cuts and nose bleeds we must help and do our best knowledge to the boxers. We have got new methods of diagnostics and the prevention is more important than ever in the sport. Therapy after the traumas and rehabilitation are possible treatment but our main goal is the prevention. we are coordinating the actions of the doctors during a competition and the exact role of the cutman was described,” said the Chairman of the ASBC Medical Commission Mr. Victor Kim.

The ASBC Competition Commission Meeting
The ASBC Competition Commission Meeting was held in Doha during the AIBA World Boxing Championships where AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu opened the negotiations and ASBC President Mr. Serik Konakbayev is also attended.
“We are in a wonderful World Boxing Championships, and thanks for all arrangements to Mr. Yousef Ali Al Kazim the President of the Qatar Boxing Federation. As you could all recognize we are trying to sell boxing as previously some of our competition was boring and thinking the new way of boxing is the key of our success. We have to select the best boxers to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, this is our most important goal now. You could all recognize Manny Pacquiao’s arrival to Doha did a big impact in boxing not only in the venue and one icon could improve our reputation,” said AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu in the opening of the ASBC Competition Commission Meeting.
Mr. Walid Jarrar is the new Chairman of the ASBC Competition Commission which has got also new members. The most experienced members of the ASBC Competition Commission are Mr. Edgar Picson of the Philippines, Mr. Bolat Abdrakhmanov of Kazakhstan, Mr. Jaek Jung of Korea and Mr. Firas Omran of Iraq.
Mr. Walid Jarrar is an experienced ITO who worked hard also to win the bidding of the 2013 ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships. Following his efforts Amman could host such a big boxing event as the continental championships.
“We have got new rules and we have to make sure all of our competitions are running according to the AIBA Rules. We have discussed about the current ASBC Competition Calendar and plan the next one to issue it to all of our affiliated national federations in Asia in time to prepare well enough to the main goals of 2016.
We have to raise the number of our ITOs and qualified Supervisors which is the key factor to held more competitions in all Asian region. We are trying to support those national federations which held or planning to host any international tournaments in elite, women, youth and junior age groups in the continent. Development of our national and international level of R&Js and coaches are also among our main business,” said Mr. Walid Jarrar of Jordan the Chairman of the ASBC Competition Commission.
