ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships – Quote of the day – India’s Parveen Hooda

India’s Parveen Hooda, the bronze medallist from the recent IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, used her best combinations in her debut against Thailand’s Youth Olympic Games winner Panpatchara Somnuek. The Indian girl had a one-sided quarter-final bout, she landed several clear shots from her safest distance against the smaller Thai boxer. Chinese Taipei’s Balkan Women’s Tournament winner Su Ching Wen had a strong advantage against Mongolia’s Uranbileg Shinetsetseg in the first round. The 20-year-old Su was caught by the veteran Mongolian in the middle of the second which was a turning point in their contest. Shinetsetseg and Parveen will now meet in the semi-finals in Amman which could be an anticipated fight after the rest day.

“I took a bronze medal in the Women’s World Boxing Championships in Istanbul and I would like to be Asian Champion in Amman, this is my clear goa here. I was expecting that the Thai boxer will attack me as she was smaller than me. I used my counter-punches to win this important contest,” commented her success India’s Parveen Hooda.
