ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships – ASBC Day6 – Quote of the day – Lai Chu En

Chinese Taipei’s Rio Olympian Lai Chu En won already two contests in the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and he was fresh in the first round against Iran’s Ashkan Rezaei. The Iranian had a tough opponent in his homeland, Bagher Faraji but finally he was selected to attend in Amman. Lai knew more about boxing and he had better technical repertoires in this meeting but Rezaei was a real fighter and he did not give up this contest until the very last seconds. Lai had to show strong performance in the third round to be sure he can beat the attacking Iranian in their light welterweight (63.5kg) quarter-final. This is Chinese Taipei’s first male Asian medal since Kao Chih Yuan’s and Yang Yu Ting’s bronze from the Incheon 2011 edition. “After so many years of hard work, finally I am a medallist in the Asian Boxing Championships. I would like to get this opportunity to thanks for my coaches that I could earn a medal in the event. I had to step back all the times in this contest and I am ready to win the next challenge, the semi-finals,” said Chinese Taipei’s Lai Chu En, the country’s first male medallist.
