Anas Alotaiba underlines the importance of the Asian Elite Men & Women Boxing Championships – Delhi 2021 and urge all National Federations to participate

The most important information file, the Team Delegations Handbook for the upcoming ASBC Asian Elite Men and Women Boxing Championships finalized and the National Federations can start the preparation to the events. The 2021 edition of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships will be held in New Delhi, India as the first Asian continental highlight of the year.

ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba and the management of the Asian Boxing Confederation confirmed the date of the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships, India can welcome all of the participants in May 21-31. The competition will be held nearly two months before the start of the Tokyo Olympic Games which makes the event ideal for all of our top boxers.

Mr. Anas Alotaiba decided to arrange the event as quickly as possible to held the first Asian event in 2021. The ASBC President’s dedication to boxing give the chance for the boxers to compete internationally before the Tokyo Olympic Games. Mr. Anas Alotaiba believes the event will be a great option also for our Asian boxers who qualified for the boxing event of the Tokyo Olympic Games.

The team delegations’ handbook was issued by the Asian Boxing Confederation and the organizer of the event, the Boxing Federation of India. The handbook contains ASBC President Mr. Anas Alotaiba’s and Boxing Federation of India President Mr. Ajay Singh’s messages, furthermore all of the necessary information.

The registrations are open for all Asian National Federations and must be done at the AIBA Database until the 20th of April. Boxers who were born between 1980 and 2002, are eligible to attend in the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships in India.

The women boxers can attend in 10 weight categories in the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships: light flyweight (48kg), flyweight (51kg), bantamweight (54kg), featherweight (57kg), lightweight (60kg), light welterweight (64kg), welterweight (69kg), middleweight (75kg), light heavyweight (81kg) and heavyweight (+81kg).

The men boxers can compete also in 10 different weight classes in India as follows: light flyweight (49kg), flyweight (52kg), bantamweight (56kg), lightweight (60kg), light welterweight (64kg), welterweight (69kg), middleweight (75kg), light heavyweight (81kg), heavyweight (91kg), and super heavyweight (+91kg).

New Delhi hosted the 2018 edition of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and the same venue is ready to welcome Asia’s best elite boxers. The last edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships took place in Bangkok, Thailand in April 2019. in the Huamark Indoor Stadium where 304 athletes including 112 women and 192 men boxers attended representing 34 nations two years ago.
