Amazing number of 667 boxers registered to attend at the Chinese Taipei National President’s Cup

Chinese Taipei’s next national event, the most important in the year, the President’s Cup will be held for their junior, youth and elite boxers in November 20-25. The venue of the President’s Cup is the National Taiwan University of Sport Gymnasium in Taichung City where according to the registrations, fantastic number of 667 boxers are planning to attend in the women’s and men’s events.

The last edition of the President’s Cup was held in Chinese Taipei one year ago but the country hosted several national level competitions in 2021. The high school level boxers prepare hard to the President’s Cup which is their main event this year. Their last event was the National Games which was held before the AIBA World Boxing Championships.

Eight elite men finals were held in the last 2020 edition of the Chinese Taipei National President’s Cup where their best boxers a Tu Po Wei, Chen Po Yi, Lai Chu En, Pan Hung Ming and Kan Chai Wei all won the title contests. All of their four female Tokyo Olympians such as Huang Hsiao Wen, Lin Yu Ting, Wu Shih Yi and Chen Nien Chin controlled the President’s Cup one year ago and continued their winning path.

Chinese Taipei’s top male boxers returned to the international stage after one and half year of break at the AIBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia. Chinese Taipei competed in the Serbian capital with ten boxers to attend in the AIBA World Boxing Championships to increase their international experiences. Rio 2016 Olympian Lai Chu En won his first tough contest in Belgrade and he impressed with his amazing technical skills. Chinese Taipei has got impressive women’s elite national team which earned already three gold medals in the history of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships and also one bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Chinese Taipei’s male boxers are not so successful yet in the international events but their progress is continuous. Huang Hsiao Wen, Lin Yu Ting, Wu Shih Yi, Pin Meng Chieh and Chen Nien Chin are their key boxers in the women’s national team who all earned medals and titles in the major championships while Tsai Tzu Han, Wu Tzu Hsuan, Lin Ssu Ting and Wu Pei Yi are also aiming for top results in the President’s Cup.
