All of the stars from Uzbekistan will compete in Dubai

All of the stars from Uzbekistan will be competing at the upcoming IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships which will be held at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on December 2-13.

The head coach of the Uzbek national team, Mr. Tulkin Kilichev selected the team and several top trainers such as Mr. Juan Enrique Steyners, Mr. Rakhmatjon Ruziakhunov, Mr. Akmal Khasanov, Mr. Nodir Gulomov, Mr. Davron Gafurov, Mr. Alimardon Dostanov, Mr. Sherzod Akhmadjonov, Mr. Botirjon Makhmudov and Mr. Ganijon Yusupov will support him.

The teams can arrive to Dubai on November 30, the first competition day is December 3 while the finals are schedule to be held on December 13.

The total prize money of the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships will be 8.32 million US dollars and the best 104 boxers can earn these amounts in Dubai.

Shodiyorjon Melikuziev is the defending Asian Champion at the minimumweight (48kg) and he will return in Dubai to the squad. One of the living legends, Hasanboy Dusmatov won all of the major events during his amazing career and he is a favourite once again at the flyweight (51kg) in the World Championships.

The Asian Elite and U22 Champion Asilbek Jalilov moved up to the bantamweight (54kg) but he has the height and physical conditions to shine in Dubai. The former Asian Youth Champion Khujanazar Nortojiyev is the Elite National Champion in Uzbekistan and he could be the new sensation at the featherweight (57kg).

The reigning champion Abdumalik Khalokov is the best boxer in the world and he won the big four international championships during his career but he is still hungry for the next success at the lightweight (60kg). Sayat Ilyasov was a medallist at the Asian U22 and Youth Championships in the recent two years but Dubai will be his elite debut in the highest level.

The icon of the welterweight (67kg), the defending champion Asadkhudja Muydinkhujaev is another star in the national team who remained unbeaten in the recent one and half year. The 20-year-old Shavkatjon Boltayev joined the elite national team this year but he claimed his first Asian title still back in 2019.

Another 20-year-old hope, Fazliddin Erkinboyev is one of the most progressed boxers in the whole national team and he has gold medal expectations at the middleweight (75kg). Javokhir Ummataliyev bagged his first Asian elite title in Chiang Mai at the age of 19 one year ago and since then, he is unstoppable for all of the opponents.

The Youth World Champion Akmaljon Isroilov is the youngest in the team but the 19-year-old boxer made a strong elite debut in 2025. Another star, Turabek Khabibullayev is the No.1 at the heavyweight (92kg) who earned several big titles despite his age of 21. The Asian U22 medallist Arman Makhanov replaced Jakhongir Zokirov at the super heavyweight (+92kg) and Dubai will be his first World Championships.
