Aldamzharov and Temirzhanov impressed in the opening day of the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships

The first session of the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships saw 27 preliminary contests in the former capital city of the Central Asian boxing power, in Almaty. Experienced boxers from the international events such as Bekzat Aldamzharov and Berik Temirzhanov opened the national event with great performance at the flyweight (52kg).

The boxers at the pinweight (46kg), at the light flyweight (49kg), at the flyweight (52kg) and at the bantamweight (56kg) were in action in the first competition day at the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships. Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 are eligible to attend in the first national event of the year.

The event is preparation and selection before the main international goals of the year including the upcoming AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be held in Kielce, Poland on April 10-24.

Saktaganov and Abdraman opened in style at the pinweight (46kg)

Mangystau region’s Imangali Saktaganov is a newcomer at the pinweight (46kg) but he impressed in the Kazakhstan Youth National Championships and defeated a local boxer, Almaty’s Rinat Kudaybergen by unanimous decision. Dzhambul region’s Bekzat Abdraman controlled the first and second rounds against Kyzyl-Orda region’s Nurislam Dumanuly and finished their contest in the third with lethal punches.

Muratuly and Tashkenbay won their first tough fights at the light flyweight (49kg)

Almaty region’s Kenzhe Muratuly is one of the favourites of the light flyweight (49kg) who had several difficulties against Pavlodar region’s Akhan Bayandosov. The experienced boxer won the contest by disqualification in the third round and remained his gold medal chances alive in Almaty. Nur-Sultan’s Sanzhar Tashkenbay won all of the rounds in each scorecard against Temirlan Gabbasov.

Aldamzharov and Temirzhanov both impressed at the flyweight (52kg) in Almaty

Bekzat Aldamzharov claimed silver medal at the 2019 Emil Zhechev Junior Memorial Tournament in Bulgaria and since then he moved up to the flyweight (52kg) and developed his strength. The 18-year-old boxer amazed the experts with his speed against Ramazan Mamyrbekuly. Pavlodar region’s Berik Temirzhanov arrived from a boxing family, his elder brother Serik is already a Tokyo Olympian. Berik is also a top talent in Kazakhstan who defeated Almaty’s Amanzhan Kobenov in the Youth National Championships.

Abdikadirov, Abdizhappar and Seitbek were the bests at the preliminary stage of the bantamweight (56kg)

Nur-Sultan’s Uralbek Abdikadirov has got experiences from smaller events but he proved strong developments against Almaty region’s Temerlan Akhmetov in the first preliminary round of the bantamweight (56kg). Shymkent’s Asylbek Abdizhappar controlled the first two rounds against Mangystau region’s Meirambek Murasbay and stopped his opponent in the final period. Zhambul region’s Nurmerey Seitbek had a close contest against Islam Tleubekov but he managed his success over his dangerous rival.
