AIBA 3-star coach Mr. Wasantha Kumara offered the Dinuda Resort as Quarantine Centre in Sri Lanka

The Boxing Association of Sri Lanka had national boxing events in the beginning of the year for several age groups but their management remained active during the Covid-19 situation which affects also the island. The Boxing Association of Sri Lanka together with Mr. Wasantha Kumara offered the 24-roomed Dinuda Resort to Sri Lanka Navy to utilize it as a Quarantine Center.

The Dinuda Holiday Resort locates in the city of Kalpitiya north from Colombo and welcomed guests from all over the world in the previous years. The owner of the Dinuda Resort is Mr. Wasantha Kumara who is AIBA 3-star boxing coach and supported the development of Sri Lanka’s boxing life in the recent decade

Sri Lanka’s well-known International Technical Official (ITO) and engine of their daily work Mr. Hemantha Weerasinghe organized many of the requirements to make these actions. Mr. Dian Gomes is the President of the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka and member of the Executive Committee of the Asian Boxing Confederation who also supported the project and actions during the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic.

The Boxing Association of Sri Lanka assisted also the donation of stock of health care outfits such as face masks and personal protective equipment to the Boralasgamuwa Police Station. Sri Lanka’s AIBA 2-star boxing coach the Co-Director of the Outcast Creations Mr. Abdulla Ibunu donated National hospitals in Colombo, in Kandy, in Polonnaruwa and in Ragama which were their further actions in the fight against the Covid-19.
