Tajikistan impressed in the fourth competition day and their best junior talent, Mansurkhuja Muminov continued their winning path. The ASBC Junior bronze medallist boxer was energetic in the first round against Ireland’s Aaron Keogh and he had the advantage on the judges’ scorecards. Muminov had unpredictable movements in this contest and he eliminated a good opponent at the light flyweight (48kg).
Kazakhstan’s Nygman Nygmet supported the home nation’s successes at the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana. He moved up from the pinweight (46kg) up to the light flyweight (48kg) in the recent weeks but he had the speed and strength to eliminate a neighbouring boxer, another ASBC medallist, Sanjar Hamrayev of Turkmenistan.
Pakistan registered to the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships but their team finally could not compete in Astana. Their best junior boxer, Soban Rehman is not experienced in the international stage yet but he shocked his Greek rival, Vasileios Vasileiadis and he caused a surprise with his 3:2 triumph at the light bantamweight (52kg).
Kyrgyzstan’s Dilerbek Sadirov lost to India’s Yogesh Dhanda in the final of the featherweight (57kg) at the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships. Astana’s two finalists had to meet once again but this time still in the preliminary stage in Yerevan and both knew the importance of their meeting. Sadirov used a different strategy this time and his effectiveness meant that he made a revenge due to the previous loss in Astana.
Another Kyrgyz talent, Ramzidin Urmanov won an international competition just before the start of the Junior World Boxing Championships. He had a great opener against Tunisia’s Moetaz Belleh Hammami at the light flyweight (48kg) and after two minutes, he had the advantage. The Tunisian boxer received three warnings during this Round of 16 contest and the Romanian referee disqualified him.
Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC Asian Junior Champion Amantur Dzhumayev was in trouble in the first round against Germany’s Daniel Diesendorf but he increased his speed in the second and stopped his opponent at the light bantamweight (52kg). Dzhumayev advanced to the quarter-finals and he has a strong chance to get his career’s next medal in the international stage.
Afghanistan’s Amanollah Sahak is a new face in the international stage but he is one of the new sensations at the featherweight (57kg). The 16-year-old Afghan won all of the three rounds against Moldova’s Alexandr Marga and he secured his place in the last eight of this strong weight class.
Iran’s defending ASBC Asian Junior Champion at the welterweight (66kg), Mohammed Mesbahi Rouzbahani kept Georgia’s Mamuka Kakabadze on long in most of their bout and he joined the quarter-finals. Uzbekistan’s Akbar Akhmadov eliminated his Russian rival in a superb contest while Tajikistan’s Abubakr Gafurov also secured his place in the last eight in this weight class.
