Adeb Habra and Abdelhamid Al-Yousef are the bests in the Syrian Youth National Championships

The Syrian Youth National Championships was held in Latakia which meant the boxers of this age group returned to the venue after the 2017 edition. Adeb Habra is one of their biggest hopes in the youth boxing who is aiming for a place in the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games therefore his top performance at the lightweight (60kg) was the first step for him to reach his big goals.
Syria’s boxing life delivered sensational results in 2017 and Hussin Al-Masri was named as the Asian Discovery Boxer last year. The winners have got the realistic chance to represent Syria in the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Bangkok which will be the lone qualification event for the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games.
Latakia is located in the northern region of the country and hosted several previous Syrian national events. Boxers who were born in 2000 and in 2001 were eligible to compete in the Syrian Youth National Championships. Altogether 76 young boxers competed in the Syrian Youth National Championships in Latakia.
Youth National Champion Salman Ali Kallol has got plenty of experiences from the national events and defeated Basher Esmaeel and Ali Fahed in the final stages of the light flyweight (49kg). His younger brother Redwan Kallol claimed gold medal in the Syrian Junior National Olympiad in 2017 and joined to the youth level only in January but he claimed gold at the flyweight (52kg) after beating Soliman Zahra in the final.
Mohamed Atrash defeated all of his rivals by large margin of difference in the Syrian Junior National Olympiad and he was able to transfer his top form to the Youth National Championships. The 16-year-old bantamweight (56kg) boxer did outstanding performance in Latakia where he defeated Salah Saad Deen in the final.
Adeb Habra received the right to represent Syria in the Bangkok 2017 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and used his international experiences to be crowned at the lightweight (60kg) in Latakia. The 17-year-old talent eliminated Yazan Ballol in the semi-final and stopped Yassen Kanaa in the gold medal bout.
Jaafar Assad claimed silver medal in the last edition of the Syrian Youth National Championships at the welterweight (69kg) but he decided to move down one category. The 18-year-old boxer triumphed over Mostafa A.-Samawee in the semi-final and Yoshaa Al-Darweish in the fifth final of the Syrian Youth National Championships.
Junior National Champion Shehab Hamdan has got experiences from the previous national events and competed at the 2016 Children of Asia Games in Yakutsk. The Syrian youth welterweight (69kg) No.1 defeated Mohamed Mohdee Al-Saraj in the final by larger margin of difference. The next gold medal went to Syrian Junior National Olympiad winner Faheem Solaiteen who eliminated Ebrahim Ali and Majed Moala at the middleweight (75kg).
Nor Aldeen Fawakhrgi claimed bronze medal in the last edition in Latakia and returned to the city in better form which resulted for him a title after beating Yousuf Alawee. Junior National Champion Abdelhamid Al-Yousef was gold medallist at the light heavyweight (81kg) in the last edition and he claimed his next national title this time at the heavyweight (91kg) after stopping Moaz Jamaldeen in the final.
Odai Khadam was bronze medallist in the last edition of the Syrian Youth National Championships in 2017 but since then he moved up from the light heavyweight (81kg) up to the super heavyweight (+91kg). The 18-year-old boxer launched powerful punches in the final against Mohamed Hejazi Halab and secured his first national title.
