Abramyan and Tursynbek are Kazakhstan new future hopes following their gold medals at the CIS Games

The women’s finals delivered strong Central Asian dominance at the Commonwealth of Independent States Games in Azerbaijan. Kazakhstan’s new sensations such as Zhasmin Abramyan and Dilyara Tursynbek both won their weight categories in Yevlakh.

Eight cities are hosting the CIS Games in Azerbaijan and the seven-days long boxing event took place at the Yevlakh Olympic Center.

Azerbaijan’s new hero, Gular Huseynova caused one of the sensations in the women’s finals of the CIS Junior Games when she defeated Russia’s Daria Gavrina by 4:1 split decision at the light flyweight (48kg). 

Uzbekistan’s Nazokat Mardonova won her last international preparation event, the Governor Cup in Ferghana a few weeks ago. She eliminated Russia’s top junior, Diana Kuznetsova in the semi-finals of the flyweight (50kg) and Mardonova continued her winning path against Azerbaijan’s Amina Tagi.

Uzbekistan’s next ace and gold medallist from the Governor Cup, Sabina Mirzoyeva stopped Azerbaijan’s Zakhra Mammadova in the semi-finals of the light bantamweight (52kg) and she was too smart also for Russia’s Maria Lebedeva.

Uzbekistan’s Kumriniso Mukhammadova defeated her main rivals at the bantamweight (54kg), Russia’s Anastasia Filipova and Azerbaijan’s Jamila Muradly as well. Uzbekistan’s most experienced junior talent, Farzuna Ruziyeva had a successful battle against Russia’s Sofya Panteleyeva at the women’s featherweight (57kg).

A new lightweight (60kg) talent from Kazakhstan, Zhasmin Abramyan had a tight success over Uzbekistan’s Mekhribakh Kilichova in the semi-finals and she was able to keep the control against Aynur Ismailova of Azerbaijan for the title.

Uzbekistan’s Rushanabonu Isoyeva is a well-experienced boxer at the light welterweight (63kg) and she controlled her last two contests against Kazakhstan’s Madina Nurmanova and Azerbaijan’s Fidan Bakarova with confidence.

Kazakhstan’s Dilyara Tursynbek competed in several events as preparations and she had great bouts in Latvia and in Uzbekistan as well this year. The welterweight (66kg) boxer eliminated Azerbaijan’s Sama Abbasova in the last four and she continued her winning path against Russia’s Lustina Anufriyeva to earn her career highlight.
