Abdraimova, Ryabets and Islambekova were the stars of the Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships
The Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships was held in Almaty where ten champions have been crowned in their previous capital city. AIBA Women’s Junior World Champion Nadezhda Ryabets, AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Zhansaya Abdraimova and AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships silver medallist Dina Islambekova were the stars of the event in Almaty.
Boxers who were born in 2000 and in 2001 could compete in the Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships in Almaty. The Kazakh women youth boxers have been preparing to the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships which will be held in Bangkok in the second part of April. Altogether 92 boxers competed in the Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships in Almaty.
Almaty region’s Anel Kudaybergen was gold medallist in the Khayrutdinov Women’s Junior Tournament in Almaty in 2016 and reached another highlight in the same venue. She won the first gold medal of the Kazakhstan Women’s Youth National Championships following she was able to beat Akbota Tangatar of Taraz at the light flyweight (48kg).
Zhansaya Abdraimova of Taraz delivered one of the best performances at the flyweight (51kg) in the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships in Guwahati where she claimed bronze medal. Abdraimova was a hard target and used her world class footwork to beat Karina Ayzakhmetova of Almaty in the final of the flyweight (51kg).
Akmola region’s Aizada Eslyagali was not the top favourite of the bantamweight (54kg) but she defeated her main rivals as Ahmet Comert Youth Tournament bronze medallist Aizhan Madibek of Taraz and Children of Asia Games winner Anar Kozha of Almaty in the road to the finals. She defeated all of her rivals also in the Demyanov Women’s Youth Memorial Tournament in Nadvirna and continued her winning path in the final of the bantamweight (54kg) when she met with Kuanysh Burkhan.
Children of Asia Games silver medallist Yerkezhan Dauletzhankyzy achieved the gold medal in the Demyanov Women’s Youth Memorial Tournament in Nadvirna, Ukraine also as Eslyagali but her opponent in the final of the featherweight (57kg) was experienced Laura Yessenkeldi of Shymkent. Dauletzhankyzy had amazing stamina in the final round which was enough for her to beat her top opponent by split decision.
Almaty’s Mariya Gladkova is an experienced woman youth boxer but her title at the lightweight (60kg) was the career highlight of the young talent. Gladkova won the Demyanov Women’s Youth Memorial Tournament in Ukraine two months ago and she was amazing in the final of the event when she defeated Taraz’s 16-year-old Zhamila Bolat who won the Best Asian Women’s Junior Boxer Trophy in 2017.
Atyrau region’s Zarina Khaliulla competed in several international events therefore she was enough prepared to beat Almaty’s Zhuldyz Toikova in the final of the light welterweight (64kg). Shymkent’s Maya Bisebayeva was gold medallist in the Khayrutdinov Women’s Junior Tournament in Almaty more than one year ago and secured her next title against Taraz’s Balzhan Askar.
Kostanay’s Nadezhda Ryabets was AIBA Women’s Junior World Champion in 2015 and changed her category to the Olympic middleweight (75kg) only in the recent months. The 17-year-old rising hope had a strong opponent Almaty region’s Guzal Sadykova in the final but she was able to find the best fighting distance in their gold medal bout.
Kazakhstan dominated the light heavyweight (81kg) in the youth level last year when AIBA Women’s Youth World Champion Araylym Begdilda was their No.1 but she joined to the elite age group in January. Their new champion is Kyzyl-Orda’s Gulsaya Yerzhan who stopped all of her opponents in the Almaty event.
Shymkent’s Dina Islambekova achieved silver medal in the AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships in Guwahati a few months ago and she was also runner up in the Taipei 2015 AIBA Women’s Junior World Boxing Championships. The 18-year-old Islambekova had a quick final against Kyzyl-Orda’s Moldir Raushanbek and spent less than two minutes in the ring when the referee confirmed her RSC success.
