A historical AIBA 1-star R&J Course was held in DPR Korea to develop their grassroots

A historical AIBA 1-star Referee & Judge Course was held in the capital city of DPR Korea in Pyongyang which was a big step to develop the country’s boxing background. More than 20 participants attended in the AIBA 1-star Referee & Judge Course in Pyongyang and DPR Korea’s young and new referees have done their examinations.
Two experienced AIBA Instructors as Mr. Waldemar Mencel of Austria and Mr. Paiboon Srichaisawat led the AIBA 1-star Referee & Judge Course in Pyongyang. The seminars have been separated into two parts, the first one was theoretic with a lot of presentations following that the second was introduced in the practical level.
DPR Korea attended in the recent ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships and their boxers are planning to compete in Russia, in Thailand, in Mongolia and some other events before the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games which shows their activity level is higher than in the recent 10 years.
The next important Referee & Judge Course will be held for the AIBA 3-stars during the Thailand Open Boxing Tournament in the end of June. The Monkstown Box Cup will be held in Ireland and parallel to its competition and with the Thailand Open Tournament an AIBA 2-star Referee & Judge Course is scheduled.
