Abdullaev, Sakenov and Osmonov also advanced to the final of the Shopokov Memorial Tournament in Bishkek

The most exciting part of the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament was held in Bishkek where the winners of the elite competition are finalists in the Kyrgyz capital. Kyrgyzstan’s best boxers as Sirodjiddin Abdullaev, Ermek Sakenov, Turat Osmonov, Bek Kamchybekov and Sergei Parenko all advanced to the finals in Bishkek.
The Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament is a strong preparation event for the women and men elite boxers before the main actions of 2018. The best 24 boxers are remained in action after the semi-finals in the Duisenkul Shopokov Memorial Tournament in Bishkek which is the second big Asian competition after the Indian Open Tournament.
Kyrgyzstan’s best female boxer ASBC Asian Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Farida Pupova defeated her main national rival Meerimgul Mamasaly Kyzy by unanimous decision and will be boxing with Kazakhstan’s Uldana Nurlanova in the final of the women’s lightweight (60kg) in Bishkek.
Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships quarter-finalist and WSB hope Nodirjon Mirzakhmedov had to do his very best against Kazakhstan’s Youth National Champion Rustam Khamidov but finally his hand was raised. The Uzbek boxer will now face with Kyrgyzstan’s National Champion Mirlan Turkbay Uulu in the final of the light flyweight (49kg) in Bishkek.
Kyrgyzstan’s Incheon 2014 Asian Games bronze medallist Turat Osmonov moved up to the flyweight (52kg) and in the absence of ASBC Asian Champion Azat Usenaliev he had the real chance to win the whole competition. The 24-year-old boxer outpointed Kazakhstan’s Zhandos Alibayev in the semi-final and will now meet for the title with Uzbekistan’s teenage hope Foziljon Abdumurodov.
Kyrgyzstan’s Umakhanov Memorial Tournament winner Sirodjiddin Abdullaev is their top bantamweight (56kg) boxer who reached the top level of the international competitions in the recent 18 months. The 22-year-old promising Kyrgyz hope eliminated Uzbekistan’s younger talent Oybek Jurayev and will now meet with his teammate Almambet Alibekov in the final of the Shopokov Memorial Tournament.
Kyrgyzstan’s Argen Kadyrbek Uulu is a new hope at the lightweight (60kg) in the host nation’s squad who did a wonderful performance against Uzbekistan’s Rakhmatulla Kuziyev in the semi-final. The Kyrgyz U21 National Champion needs one further step to get the title in Bishkek against Munarbek Seyitbek Uulu who defeated Tajikistan’s Odiljon Furkatjoni in the second semi-final of the category.
Kyrgyzstan’s National Champion at the light welterweight (64kg) Daniyar Damirdin Uulu had difficult first round against Tajikistan’s Asian University Boxing Championships silver medallist Bakhodur Usmonov but finally he could turn back their narrow semi-final. Damirdin Uulu will have hard job in the gold medal contest as his next opponent will be Kyrgyzstan’s Bek Kamchybekov.
Uzbekistan’s experienced WSB boxer Fazliddin Meliboev eliminated Kyrgyzstan’s Galym Zharylgapov Memorial Tournament winner Abdurakhman Abdurakhmanov in the first preliminary round and his impulse flew him into the finals in Bishkek. The 21-year-old Uzbek defeated also Kazakhstan’s Maksat Kobetay in the semi-final of the welterweight (69kg) and will now meet with Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships bronze medallist Ermek Sakenov for the title.
Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships competitor Ykhtyiar Shabdanbayev had to meet with his main national rival in the semi-final of the middleweight (75kg) when he met with Ilyas Mukanbetov. The 21-year-old boxer needs only one further step to win the whole competition but his next rival will be Azamat Kanybek Uulu who has got experiences in the international level since 2009.
Kyrgyzstan’s flag bearer in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was Erkin Adylbek Uulu who had a tough opponent in the semi-final of the light heavyweight (81kg), Tajikistan’s AIBA Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Akhmadjon Saidov. The eight years older Kyrgyz boxer used his longer hands to keep the best fighting distance and will be boxing for the title with Kazakhstan’s Mukhatali Uralbayev who eliminated Uzbekistan’s strong Bakhromjon Fozilov.
Kyrgyzstan’s ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships bronze medallist Sergei Parenko did enough in the semi-final of the heavyweight (91kg) against Kazakhstan’s Mukhametzhan Taybagar in Bishkek where his final opponent will be a relatively unknown boxer Tajikistan’s National Championships bronze medallist Shukhrat Abdulazizzoda.
Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Youth Champion Obidjon Tokhirov moved up to the super heavyweight (+91kg) in the recent weeks and worked more on feet than Kyrgyzstan’s defending National Champion Ziyodin Muminov in the semi-final. The 20-year-old Uzbek will now meet with Kyrgyzstan’s experienced Shermukhammad Khakimov for the last title of the Shopokov Memorial Tournament tomorrow.
