Criz Russu Laurente had sensational performance in the Philippine Junior National Games

The Palarong Pambansa is a very famous competition in the Philippines which is the local name of the Philippine Junior National Games which was held in San Jose. The Philippine Junior National Games was the first selection event for the international competitions and Criz Russu Laurente proved his top talent in the competition.
Philippines will be hosting the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in August 1-8 and the country has been preparing to that event with full speed. Davao City will be the venue of the event which is located in the Mindanao Island and some of the top boxers of the Junior National Games could be there in the continental event. Altogether 79 male junior boxers from 18 teams competed in the event in five weight classes.
The first gold medal of the Palarong Pambansa was won by Mario Angel Vidal who did not give any chance to his opponents. The 15-year-old mosquito weight (38kg) boxer was too smart for Nino Cardaza in the semi-final and he continued his winning path against Christian Genanda in the first final of the Junior National Games. Vidal, who represented Region 10 in the Palarong Pambansa, finally won the team title as well in San Jose.
Jericho Acaylar had a tough preliminary bout against Jose Angelo Villaverde but he was able to solve that serious tactical issue in San Jose. His final round was enough to beat his rival in the preliminary bout and following that Acaylar did even better and better performances and did not stop until the gold medal. The young Filipino talent had sensational combinations against Marc Jonas Parcon and won the second title of the Palarong Pambansa.
Super talented Carl John Austria won several regional and national events in the Philippines in the recent three years mainly in the island of Mindanao. As a kid and schoolboys boxer he was really successful but he delivered his best ever performance in the Palarong Pambansa. Austria was too quick for Daniel Cabudoy in the semi-final and did sensational finish against B-Boy Cenita in the third final of the Games.
Criz Russu Laurente, who trains in General Santos City, is one of the most experienced Filipino junior boxer who controlled all of his fights in the event in San Jose. Russu, who will be turning to 16 only in October, is one of the favourite also in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in August. The pinweight (46kg) boxer eliminated John Nino Vega in the semi-final and proved top performance against John Michael Diocares in the fourth final of the Games.
Dave Apolinario is also a super talented boxer in the Philippines as Criz Russu Laurente who won the Junior National Games already in Lingayen in 2016. The 16-year-old light flyweight (49kg) boxer eliminated Jereme Puig in the semi-final by unanimous decision and had enough experiences to beat tough Reymark Alicaba in the gold medal bout in San Jose. The final verdict was 4-1 to Apolinario who is near to represent the Philippines in the ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships in August.
