WSB Season VI Week 1 – Türkiye Conquerors vs. China Dragons

China Dragons was near to get a big surprise in the opening WSB match of Season VI
One of our Asian franchise the China Dragons opened the first match of the Season VI of the World Series of Boxing with two triumphs but finally their performance was not enough to beat their opponents Türkiye Conquerors in the Bagcilar Sport Complex in Istanbul.
In that away match China Dragons began their match with a big success as their Light Flyweight class (49 kg) boxer He Junjun, who won three bouts in Season V, was too smart for Turkey’s Russian-descent Hamza Kartal who was born as Khamza Nametov in Dagestan. He Junjun is only 23 but has got big experiences from the AOB events as well and proved he is China’s No.2 in the lowest category after APB Champion Lu Bin.
Xu Boxiang involved to the Chinese national team in 2014 and competed in a few international competitions where he had some victories as well. The 24-year-old Chinese Bantamweight class (56 kg) boxer was in totally different level than Turkey’s teenager Hakan Cigdem and the referee stopped their unequal bout in the fourth round in their battle when Xu knocked down the host country’s youngster.
China Dragons’ newcomer in the World Series of Boxing Meng Caicheng did a smart boxing against Türkiye Conquerors London 2012 Olympian Yakup Sener at the Light Welterweight class (64 kg) and his footwork was also amazing. The Turkish veteran defeated his younger Chinese hope but Meng proved he will have bright future in our sport.
Turkish President’s Cup bronze medallist Zhao Minggang has begun the bout better against Evren Tibukoglu in their Middleweight class (75 kg) bout but his Turkish opponent came back to the bout after the first three minutes and turned back the contest. ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships quarter-finalist Yu Fengkai was not in the same level as Turkey’s Heavyweight class (91 kg) No.1 Seyda Keser which meant the final result of their encounter was 3-2 to the Turkish franchise.
