Altogether 428 boxers are participating in the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships in Dubai for the 13 available gold medals.

Uzbekistan’s superstar, Asadkhudja Muydinkhujaev had a harder battle in Dubai today but he managed his way to the next stage of boxing. His opponent, Armenia’s Armen Mashakaryan had the experience from major events but the defending World Champion of the welterweight (67kg) was smarter in the exchanges.
Kazakhstan’s Sanatali Toltayev moved up to the welterweight (67kg) this year and he received the right to compete in Dubai from Mr. Kairat Satzhanov, their head coach. Toltayev bagged several titles in the recent 10 years and those experiences paid off against Brazil’s Cassio Santos Oliveira in their today’s meeting.
Tajikistan’s Nekruz Salimov was member of their junior national team in 2015 and after ten years of hard work he is now there in the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships. The National Champion at the light heavyweight (80kg) had a great finish to beat North Macedonia’s ex-US boxer, Arjan Iseni today.
Uzbekistan’s ASBC Asian Champion at the light heavyweight (80kg), Javokhir Ummataliyev expected a top battle against Kyrgyzstan’s strong puncher, Omurbek Bekzhigit Uulu who has six years of routine in the elite national team. The 20-year-old Uzbek kept his smaller Kyrgyz opponent on long successfully in most of the rounds and he eliminated the Asian bronze medallist neighbour.
Uzbekistan’s next ace, another reigning ASBC Asian Champion, Turabek Khabibullayev is unbeaten this year and he continued his winning path with another emerging performance. The 21-year-old Uzbek heavyweight (92kg) did not underestimate his opponent from Brazil, Kalil Luan Paiva and he built up a strong advantage on the judges’ scorecards after six minutes of fight. Khabibullayev’s opponent had to spend time in the medical corner and the ringside doctor stopped their contest in the third round.
Kazakhstan’s Nurlan Saparbay progressed step by step in the recent years and he was involved to their national team at the super heavyweight (+92kg). The 28-year-old boxer had a close contest in the fifth competition day against an IBA-Pro boxer, the Iranian Iman Ramezanpour but he accomplished his strategic goal with a success.
Nepal’s Lal Prasad Upreti has excellent technical skills and he spent his time in competitions and training camps in the previous two years. Nepal’s No.1 exceeded all of the expectations in his Round of 16 battle against Moldova’s Mihai Porombac and he became his nation’s first ever male boxer who joined the quarter-finals in a World Championship.
Turkmenistan’s new sensation at the super heavyweight (+92kg), Dovlet Yslamov started his campaign with a success in Dubai and with the next triumph, he is now a quarter-finalist. The 24-year-old boxer used his athletic skills and power to stop Uganda’s Sabbath Mark Zikama in a quick contest.
