Yoshua Masihor and Alfino Caesar Nanlohy will represent Indonesia in Dubai

Indonesia send two of its top boxers to the upcoming IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships which will be held at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on December 2-13.

The Indonesians have new leadership since September and their management was extremely active in the recent three months hosting events, courses, regional tournaments and celebrated the country’s 66th anniversary.

The teams can arrive to Dubai on November 30, the first competition day is December 3 while the finals are schedule to be held on December 13.

The total prize money of the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships will be 8.32 million US dollars and the best 104 boxers can earn these amounts in Dubai.

The strong Yoshua Holy Masihor, who competed at the 2023 IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships, will represent Indonesia at the bantamweight (54kg) in Dubai.

Masihor competed at the Thailand Open International Tournament this year and he has experience from all levels of boxing. The Indonesian National Games winner Yoshua Holy Masihor was too strong for Malaysia’s Najmuddin Bin Abdul Rahman in Negeri Sembilan this September which was his last international competition.

Alfino Caesar Nanlohy will be competing at the light middleweight (71kg) in Dubai which looks a very busy category in the championships.

Nanlohy was a bronze medallist already at the 2017 Southeast Asian Youth Championships, and he claimed several titles in the national stage. The 26-year-old boxer looked too experienced for Malaysia’s National Champion Mohamed Firdaus Bin Aziz at the middleweight (75kg) final during the Negeri Sembilan event this September which was his preparation event for Dubai.
