Zhussupov, Bibossynov and Temirzhanov could be Kazakhstan’s stars in Dubai

Kazakhstan will send a full team and strong team to the upcoming IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships which will be held at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on December 2-13 where their gold medal expectations are high.

The head coach of the elite national team, the legendary Mr. Kairat Satzhanov selected the 13 boxers to Dubai including two World Champions.

The teams can arrive to Dubai on November 30, the first competition day is December 3 while the finals are schedule to be held on December 13.

The total prize money of the IBA Men’s Elite World Boxing Championships will be 8.32 million US dollars and the best 104 boxers can earn these amounts in Dubai.

Temirtas Zhussupov was World Champion and Asian Champion during his career and the veteran boxer is still in the national team to take his next gold at the minimumweight (48kg). Daniyal Sabit started his elite career with a silver medal at the 2021 ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships and he is a medal favourite at the flyweight (51kg).

Another star boxer, Saken Bibossynov is Kazakhstan’s next World Champion who will return to a big event in Dubai in his new category, at the bantamweight (54kg). Orazbek Assylkulov achieved several silver medals during his career and he is aiming for his first gold in the upcoming IBA World Boxing Championships.

The World silver medallist Serik Temirzhanov is Pavlodar’s pride and Mr. Azamat Makazhanov’s pupil moved back to the lightweight (60kg) to shine in Dubai once again. Yertugan Zeinullinov competed for Kazakhstan in several top events in the recent 11 years and he is also a medal contender at the light welterweight (63.5kg).

Another international medallist, Sanatali Toltayev began his international boxing career 10 years ago as a top junior boxer and he moved up to the welterweight (67kg) this year. The three-time World bronze medallist and Asian Champion Ablaikhan Zhussupov has only one target in Dubai, the gold at the light middleweight (71kg).

The 2021 Youth World Champion Sabyrzhan Akkalykov developed in all aspects of boxing and he is ready to reach a new career highlight at the middleweight (75kg) in Dubai. The Asian U22 Champion Yerassyl Zhakpekov has eight years of international routine and the 23-year-old boxer is ready to climb to the throne of the light heavyweight (80kg).

The Youth World silver medallist Daulet Tulemissov will make an elite debut at the cruiserweight (86kg), while Nurmagomed Yusupov (92kg) and Nurlan Saparbay (+92kg) also have been added to the travelling team.
