Thirteen elite champions celebrated their gold medals in India

The Indian Amateur Boxing Federation arranged its Men’s Elite National Championships in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh where 13 boxers earned their gold medals.
The Indian National Championships supported the decision makers to find new talents in the country and it was also an important selection meeting before the main events.
Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujrat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Laddak, Lakshyadip, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Podduchery, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal were the participating states in the National Championships.
Boxers from Jammu & Kashmir earned four gold medals in the National Championships ahead of the Haryana team which bagged three titles in Ayodhya. Punjab and Uttar Pradesh both achieved two titles, while Assam and Rajasthan each took one gold in the event. Out of the 27 participating states, 18 claimed at least one medal in the National Championships.
Rajasthan’s Devendra Singh Solanki is a very experienced boxer who controlled the strong minimumweight (48kg) final over Punjab’s Nirmal. Jammu & Kashmir’s Ashu claimed the second gold medal of the Nationals where he defeated Telangana’s Sibi Vagheese to take the title of the flyweight (51kg).
A talent from Uttar Pradesh, Jitendra Kumar was announced as the best loser of the National Championships following his close loss to Manoj Kumar of Punjab at the bantamweight (54kg) final.
Jammu & Kashmir’s Sachin not only won the busy featherweight (57kg) over Punjab’s Lovepreet Singh and he was named as the best boxer of the Nationals. Uttar Pradesh’s Mohit Thakur kept the lightweight (60kg) title on home soil, he had a hectic success over Jammu & Kashmir’s Dharmender.
Haryana’s ace, Praveen Kumar controlled the first round of the welterweight (67kg) final against Mahesh and he knocked out his rival in the second. His teammates in Haryana, such as Ankit Kumar (75kg) and Pravesh Kumar (80kg) also achieved gold medals in their weight categories.
