The Nepal Talent Hunt II Championships was a selection event in Lalitpur

The second edition of the Nepal Talent Hunt Tournament was held in the city of Lalitpur which saw four females and six male champions.
Nepal is active in the boxing map this year, the country hosted several national, military, regional and novice competitions. Nepal competed also in the international stage of boxing in all of the age groups in 2025 and their women boxers reached some impressive results.
Lalitpur is one of the boxing cities in Nepal and their National Federation President, Mr. Ram Awale also watched the bouts of the Talent Hunt Tournament in the venue.
One of the International Technical Officials, Mr. Puskar Raj Pant was the Technical Delegate of the three-days long elite selection competition.
Ramisha Shrestha moved up to the flyweight this year and she had the technical skills to gain the control against Lalu Maya Chhetri from the first seconds. Shrestha continued her technician performance until the last gong and she won their meeting unanimously.
Barsha Shrestha won the women’s bantamweight (54kg) over Sumina Khadka before Bimala Shrestha earned the title at the lightweight (60kg). She had another national team member opponent in the final, Sushmita Rai, but she managed to beat her with a great game-play.
Kusum Tamang has experience from several national events but she boxed over her previous level to take the fourth female title in Lalitpur after beating Niru Gurung in the final.
Chandra Bahadur Thapa represented Nepal in high number of international competitions therefore his success over Funglang Kambang was not a surprise.
Kagendra Rokka Magar from the Tribhuvan Army Sports Club delivered a small surprise in the final of the men’s lightweight (60kg) when he defeated Bikram Pariyar, one of Nepal’s top U22 talents.
Bikram Chaudhary won the tightest male final of the Talent Hunt Tournament, he succeeded over Prasan Thapa by 3:2 split decision. Nepal’s veteran Asian Championships competitor, Dipak Shrestha won the title of the light heavyweight (80kg) in Lalitpur where he had an opponent from the Army, Gesh Kumar Shrestha.
Madan Karki won the heavyweight over Mohan Raj Joshi while Nepal’s giant from the military, the veteran Ashish Duwadi was still strong enough to beat Pawan Moktan at the super heavyweight.
