The city of Khudjand will host the Tajikistan National Championships

The Tajikistan Elite National Championships will feature in the city of Khudjand on October 18-22 and all of their stars are planning to join the competition.
Khudjand, previously known as Leninabad, is located in North Tajikistan, it is the second largest city of the country. Khudjand is also one of the oldest cities of the Central Asian region which was established more than 2,500 years ago during the Persian Empire.
The best boxers of the country, both men and women, will participate in the new edition of the National Elite Boxing Championships. The Tajiks amazed in the last edition of the ASBC Asian U22 & Youth Boxing Championships in Colombo claiming gold medals.
The women boxers will participate for the medals in these 12 categories: 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg, and +81kg.
The men boxers will be able to compete in the following weight categories: 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg, and +92kg.
The participating teams are Dushanbe-1, Dushanbe-2, GBAO, Khatlon-1, Khatlon-2, Sughd and SHNTM. The team composition of the National Championships includes for all of the participating regions and cities 18 athletes, 1 referee and 1 coach.
The competition will be held according to the rules of the International Boxing Association, and the winners will qualify for the upcoming Asian Elite Boxing Championships.
The head of the Referees & Judges of the competition will be Mr. Mansur Mukhiddinov and its Secretary General will be Mr. Alisher Timirov.
Khudjand hosted the Azimjon Toshev International Memorial Tournament this July where the seven finals bouts took place in the Spartak Stadium, and Tajikistan’s 19-year-old Ruslan Gafurov became the youngest winner there. The competition is dedicated to the National Unity Day and in memory of the Honoured Coach of the Soviet Union, Mr. Azimjon Toshev.
The last edition of the Tajikistan National Championships featured in their capital city in Dushanbe one year ago. Nineteen boxers celebrated their gold medals after the finals of the 2024 Tajikistan Elite National Championships including Mizhgona Samadova, Shoira Zulkaynarova, Mekhron Shafiyev, Khusravkhon Rakhimov, Akmal Ubaydov, Shokhobzhon Shukurov, Abdumalik Boltayev and Parviz Karimov.
