Vietnam has strong boxing history at the women’s minimumweight (48kg) and Hanoi’s ASBC Asian Elite Championships silver medallist Ngo Ngoc Linh Chi advanced to the final to meet Hoang Ngoc Phuong Uyen of Thai Nguyen.

An Giang’s Le Hai Au caused one of the main surprises in the National Championships when she eliminated Lao Cai’s Asian U22 Champion Song Thi Kim Ngan in the quarter-finals of the light flyweight (50kg) and she joined the final as well.

Hanoi’s Nguyen Thi Tam is one of the top stars in Vietnam’s boxing life, the Asian Champion returned to the events after a serious injury and she marched to the title bout of the women’s flyweight (52kg) where she will meet Nguyen Thi Kim Sang.

An Giang’s star, and Vietnam’s top female boxer, Vo Thi Kim Anh won the Thailand Open Tournament in 2022 and she qualified also for the Olympics. The experienced female boxer eliminated three opponents in the event, and she will face for the title of the women’s bantamweight (54kg) with Vu Thi Manh Trang from Ho Chi Minh City.

Hanoi’s strong Ngo Thi Mai Chuc competed in the last editions of the Asian Boxing Championships and Women’s World Boxing Championships therefore she had the routine to join the final of the featherweight (57kg) where her last opponent is Nguyen Thi Thanh Hao of Ho Chi Minh City.

The host city’s Nguyen Thi Kim Yen and Thanh Hoa’s Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh are the finalists at the women’s lightweight (60kg). Hanoi’s Asian Championships silver medallist Ha Thi Linh is a veteran boxer but she had the strength to join the final at the women’s light welterweight (63kg).
