Kyrgyzstan will host two international events in the upcoming weeks

Kyrgyzstan will arrange two international competitions in the upcoming weeks, the Murataliev and the Sabatarov & Abdymomunov Memorial Tournaments.
The Murataliev Memorial Tournament will open in the city of Talas on September 27 and will feature until October 2.
The city of Talas is located in Northwestern Kyrgyzstan, 1280m above the sea level and it is the administrative centre of the Talas Region.
The boxers from the 2007 and 2008 age groups could compete in this international challenge but some top hopefuls from the year 2009 got the right to participate in Talas.
The number of the athletes was 89 in the last edition of the Murataliev Youth Tournament in Talas where boxers could fight from the minimumweight (48kg) up to the super heavyweight (+92kg) in 2024. The top star of the last event was the Asian Junior Champion Akhmadi Arvaz, one of the top talents in Kyrgyzstan.
The Uzbeks were strong guests in the international events in Kyrgyzstan and two of their boxers competed successfully in the 2024 Murataliev Youth Tournament. Mukhammad Sobutkhanov had the experience from the recent Asian Championships and he dominated the bantamweight (54kg) final over Daniyar Zhaparov in Talas one year ago. His teammate, Safar Allaberganov, won the second title for the Uzbeks at the busy middleweight (75kg).
Kyrgyzstan’s next event will be the annual Beyshembek Sabatarov and Aibek Abdymomunov Memorial Tournament in Karakol on October 14-19. Mr. Aibek Abdymomunov was Kyrgyzstan’s first ever Junior World Champion in boxing in 2004.
The last edition of the Sabatarov & Abdymomunov Memorial Tournament was a selection competition for the 2024 ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships where the Kyrgyz boxers impressed with gold medals.
Bekhruz Alisherov of Uzbekistan, Imran Akmatzhanov of Kyrgyzstan, Alinur Bakytbekov of Kyrgyzstan, Islam Nurbekov of Kyrgyzstan and Mukhamzokhid Shukhratov of Uzbekistan were among the winners in the last edition one year ago.
