Mohammad Shahrazi and Muhammad Ridzuan fly high in Malaysia

Mohamad Shahrazi and Muhammad Ridzuan impressed once again this year and the duo won the Malaysian National Golden Gloves in the city of Nilai.

The Malaysian National Golden Gloves includes all states and cities in the Southeast Asian country and twelve champions celebrated their titles.

The event supports the local boxers from all states in Malaysia to increase their experience and meet each other before the main international championships.

The men’s minimumweight (48kg) is one of the best categories in Malaysia’s boxing life and their Mohamad Shahrazi Bin Sepri continued his winning path in the national level, he outpointed Peter Rolland Anak Rudin in their final meeting.

The National Champion Mohamad Alif had a very tough semi-final bout at the men’s flyweight (51kg) but he controlled the last round well against Mohamad Hizami and he continued his triumphs against Singapore’s Donovan McIntyre for the title of the category.

Malaysia’s next ace, Muhammad Ridzuan Bin Jamil Aris is a well-experienced boxer in the national stage and he was excellent in all of his four contests including the bantamweight (54kg) final against Najmuddin Bin Jamil Aris.

Frederic Japri is in top shape this year and he showed his progress at the featherweight (57kg) where he defeated his main rivals such as Shahrul Aqib, Joseph Nikhil James and Wan Amjat Baihaqi as well.

Mohamed Yusri Bin Mohamed Nor had two close battles against Singapore’s Jaison Huigen Rongwei and Muhammad Zulhusni to take the lightweight (60kg) title before Mohammed Hafizuddin earned the gold at the light welterweight (63.5kg).

Muhammad Shahrul Amirul Bon Mohamed Rafi dominated the welterweight (67kg) in the event while another national team member, Mohamed Firdaus Bin Aziz subdued his final opponent, Muhammad Shukri at the light middleweight (71kg).

Muhammad Fitry Bin Othman was highly prepared for the event and Muhammad Afiq was not able to stop him at the middleweight (75kg) final. Penang’s Danaraj Anantha Selvam (86kg) and Terengganu’s Wan Muhammad Hanif Bin Wan Zahalan (92kg) won the heaviest categories.
