The Best achievements of the National Federations is the new PR campaign of the Asian Boxing Confederation and the introduction of the Kuwait Boxing and their best results are the next in the series.
Kuwait competed in the boxing events of the Olympic Games only one time in Seoul in 1988 where the country sent three boxers. Two teenage talents such as Hussain Al-Mutairi (51kg), Saud Al-Muwaizri (54kg) and the experienced Ali Al-Baluchi (+91kg) were their Olympian boxers in Seoul.
Kuwait achieved three bronze medals in the boxing history of the Asian Games and ranks No. 27 in the overall medal table. The country has done its debut in the Asian Games in 1982 where two of their boxers as Ahmed Al-Rabee (75kg) and Nayem Ahumais (+91kg) achieved bronze medals in Delhi.
Their third bronze medal in the Asian Games was taken by Montaser Shuaib who won that podium place at the heavyweight (91kg) in the Seoul 1986 edition. Kuwait had to miss the boxing events of the 1990, 1994, 1998 and 2002 Asian Games but the country returned to the sport in the Doha 2006 edition.
Kuwait joined to the international boxing events in the early years of the 1980s and their National Federation send boxers to the Asian and Arab Championships. Ahmed Abdul Wahab (81kg) and Naeem Abdulla Shames (+91kg) were their first medallists in the Asian Boxing Championships, both earned bronze in the Seoul 1982 edition.
Kuwait was the host of the 13th edition of the Asian Boxing Championships in 1987 where the country claimed a historical gold medal. Ali Al-Baluchi defeated his Iraqi and Pakistani rivals and won the title of the super heavyweight (+91kg) in the front of the home crowd. Yousef Amer achieved a further bronze medal for the country on home soil which was their most successful competition in their boxing history.
Kuwait City hosted the 1st edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Schoolboys Boxing Championships on August 2019 where the first 14 historical champions have been crowned and the host country earned one bronze medal.
The Arab Junior Boxing Championships was held for the male talents in Kuwait City on January 2020 where more than 70 boxers competed for the medals. Kuwait bagged one silver and seven bronze medals in the 2020 Arab Junior Boxing Championships in the front of their boxing fans.
Kuwait’s boxers competed in several editions of the Asian Boxing Championships in the recent years in all age groups and women’s boxing also involved to their programs.
