Qatar proved strong progress at the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament

Qatar proved strong progress in the new 25th edition of the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament which featured for the 17 and 18-year-old female and male talents in Kostanay, Kazakhstan.
The promising Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament is a strong men’s youth international competition, which was named by Ural and Korgan Aitenov.
The city of Kostanay is located in the Northern part of Kazakhstan and hosted several strong boxing events in the recent more than one decade including national, international and regional competitions.
The head of the local organizers, Mrs. Svetlana Mahleyt will arrange all of the tournament programs, the support of the teams and other organizational matters as in the previous years.
Boxers who were born in 2007 and in 2008, were eligible to participate in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in July.
Six female and 133 male youth boxers participated in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kostanay which has five competition days in Kazakhstan.
Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, Russia, Syria and Uzbekistan were the participating countries in the 25th Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament in Kostanay.
Qatar’s Abdulaziz Abdul Lateef was born in 2008 but he proved an amazing and technician performance in the Aitenov Brothers Youth Tournament. The 17-year-old boxer eliminated Arsen Assylbekov and Adil Bolatayev during his road to the semi-finals and only Medeu Yegembergenov was able to stop him in the last four.
Ratma Moussa is also a young talent from the 2008 age group who shocked a local boxer, the more experienced Arystan Bitekenov in the quarter-finals and he stopped Ulas Mural in the last four winning that bout by RSC. Moussa claimed a silver medal in Kostanay due to his was not able to fight in the day of the finals against a top boxer, Kirill Shkuta.
Following Moussa’s silver medal, their Asian Junior bronze medallist, the 17-year-old Faris Ali Al-Thani repeated that performance at the super heavyweight. He outpointed Damir Alimzhigit of Almaty and Ayan Duisenbay of Turkistan region therefore he joined the finals with these successes. One of the top Kazakh boxers in this weight class, Dias Ayupov defeated him in the final bout but Al-Thani’s silver medal was another career highlight for him.
Mohamed Al-Fagay competed at the lightweight (60kg) in Kostanay and he lost to the eventual silver medallist Anton Khudyakov of Kazakhstan in a superb contest. Another 18-year-old Qatari talent, Youssef El-Sayed lost his Round of 16 bout to Ydyrys Zhandarbekuly but he also progressed since his last appearance.
