Dushanbe will host the Tajikistan Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships from June 25
The Tajikistan Schoolboys & Schoolgirls National Championships will be held in their capital city in Dushanbe on June 25-30.
Dushanbe is a busy city with growing economy, cultural sightseeing, operas, statues, nice parks and the population of 3 million inhabitants including the suburbs.
The competition period of the event is June 25-30 and the best 13 and 14-year-old girls and boys can show their current boxing knowledge.
The boxers who were born in 2011 and in 2012 are eligible to participate in the Tajikistan Schoolboys and Schoolgirls National Championships.
The young talents are able to compete at the 33kg, 35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg, 70kg and +70 weight categories.
Tajikistan competed in the first historic edition of the ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City in 2019 where two of their boxers, Ruslan Gafurov (37kg) and Shakhboz Dadojonov (52kg) achieved bronze medals. Since then Gafurov claimed several more medals in the ASBC Championships and he is now a member of their U22 national team in Tajikistan.
Tajikistan had a sensational performance at the 2024 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates where they achieved two gold, one silver and one bronze medal.
Tajikistan’s smallest boxer in Al Ain, Anushervon Sidigov (33kg) and the son of their 3-stars Referee & Judge Mr. Akmal Abdullayev, the 13-year-old Akbardzhon Abdullayev earned gold medals on September 2024.
The Tajiks sent their youngest boxers to international events to Kazakhstan this year to increase their experience and number of bouts.
Their schoolboys have excellent technical skills, attacking style of boxing, fighting spirit and enthusiasm to our sport. Several of the Tajiks start their boxing career at the age of 8 and 9 therefore until the schoolgirls and schoolboys age groups, they have the strong skills.
