Surprises at the Kazakhstan Youth Sports Games

The men’s finals at the Kazakhstan Youth National Sports Games delivered several big surprises in the city of Kyzyl-Orda where the entire competition has concluded.
The city of Kyzyl-Orda is located in south-central Kazakhstan and it is the capital of the region with the population of more than 300,000 inhabitants.
Kazakhstan’s Andrei Yeskin Youth Memorial, the Ibraimov Prizes Women’s Tournament, the Adriatic Pearl Youth Tournament and the Bekzat Sattarkhanov Youth Memorial were preparation competitions for the Youth National Sports Games.
Altogether 96 female and 218 male boxers competed in the Kazakhstan Youth Sports Games in Kyzyl-Orda to earn the 25 medals. The 2007 and 2008 born boxers were eligible to participate in the competition which will be a strong selection event for this age group.
Shymkent’s Beksultan Khozhamzhar represented Kazakhstan in several international events but he suffered a loss to Adil Askanbay of Almaty in the final of the minimumweight (48kg).
Kostanay region’s top favourite Aidos Ussenov was highly confident during his road to the final of the flyweight (51kg) but he was not enough fresh to beat Alisher Tazhikulov of Kyzyl-Orda region.
Karagandy region’s Almaz Nurlan had four tough opponents at the featherweight (57kg) but he managed to beat all of them including the promising 16-year-old Temirkhan Zholmakhan in the final of the category.
Akmola region’s Ali Mereke joined the youth age group only this January and he had a relatively tough start against Yerzhan Iztileuov but after that he was unstoppable for all of the boxers at the lightweight (60kg).
Almaty’s Alikhan Asker and his teammate, Khamza Maksatuly achieved the next two titles in the Youth Sports Games after their tough successes over Orazaly Kobey and Shymkent’s favourite Gayrat Iristayev in Kyzyl-Orda.
Almaty region’s Rizat Tursynbek was slightly better than Bibarys Ashirbay at the light middleweight (71kg) final while the ASBC medallist Zhandos Alpysbayev also had to do his very best against Nursultan Shildebay of Almaty.
Karagandy region’s ASBC Asian Junior Champion Timur Taybekov met his main rival, Ruslan Dineuov of Aktau region at the light heavyweight (80kg) and he used the best tactics in one of the best finals to win the gold medal.
Dzhambul region’s Ramazan Yerzhan (86kg) and Astana’s Sanzhar Seytkamit (92kg) were not the main gold medal contenders in their weight classes, but both boxers exceeded their levels in Kyzyl-Orda. Vladislav Samozhonov failed already his quarter-final bout, and another strong boxer, Dias Ayupov bagged the title of the super heavyweight (+92kg).
