The medallists are revealed at the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships

The men’s quarter-finals delivered fantastic battles, some surprises and the brilliance of their young stars at the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships in Tashkent on Day5.

The Uzbekistan Elite National Championships is a selection competition for the main events in 2025 which looks another busy year for all of the boxers.

The new ASBC Asian Elite Champions such as Shodiyorjon Melikuziev (48kg) and Asilbek Jalilov (51kg) both impressed in the fifth competition day and advanced to the semi-finals in Tashkent. The first eliminated Ibrokhim Ergashov of Dzhizak, the letter was too strong Omaddiyor Kodirov of Ferghana.

Bukhara’s ace, the Youth World Champion Shakhzod Muzafarov stopped his opponent, Otabek Ismoilov and he proved his potential for the gold medal at the men’s bantamweight (54kg). Their teenage star, Sobirjon Tastanov and Mirzabek Mirzakhalilov also managed their pathways to the next stage in this weight class in Tashkent and the latter eliminated the World silver medallist Oybek Jurayev on Day5.

The World Champion and two-time ASBC Asian Champion Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov will turn to 30 this year but he is very energetic and he was unstoppable for Miralijon Mavlonov. Two very talented youngsters, the Asian Youth Champions, as Nodirbek Allaberganov and Khujanazar Nortojiyev both advanced to the semi-finals at the featherweight (57kg).

The light welterweight (63.5kg) is one of the strongest categories at the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships in Tashkent. Their World Champion Ruslan Abdullayev will meet the Asian U22 Champion Dilshod Abdumurodov in the upcoming semi-finals. The defending ASBC Asian Elite Champion Adkhamjon Mukhiddinov eliminated Mirkomil Saidokhunov and he will now meet a teenager, Sayat Ilyasov in the last four.

Mujibullo Tursunov and Shavkatjon Boltayev are the favourites at the welterweight (67kg) and both advanced to the semi-finals. Samarkand’s Mukhammadaziz Ismoilov caused the main surprise at the light middleweight (71kg) in Tashkent where he eliminated Kamronbek Turgunboyev but the gold medal contenders, Khavasbek Asadullayev and Ikboljon Kholdarov are also remained in actions.

Tashkent’s ASBC Asian Elite Champion, the 19-year-old Javokhir Ummataliyev was too strong for Ulugbek Turabekov at the middleweight (75kg) while further Asian Youth Champion teenagers as Fazliddin Erkinboyev and Rakhmatullo Boymatov amazed at the light heavyweight (80kg) on Day5.
