The last year’s youth stars made fantastic debuts at the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships on Day3

A longer competition day was held at the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships in Tashkent on Day3 where the last year’s youth stars as Sobirjon Tastanov, Nodirbek Allaberganov and Samandar Olimov all won their preliminary bouts.
The first competition day of the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships was January 21 and the finals are scheduled to be held on January 28.
The Uzbekistan Elite National Championships is a selection competition for the main events in 2025 which looks another busy year for all of the boxers.
The women boxers began their campaign in the third day of boxing in Tashkent where most of the preliminary contests finished with RSCs. Makhliyo Khabibullayeva (60kg), Dilorom Najimova (70kg), Nazira Khurramova (81kg) and Zarafshan Khojamberganova (+81kg) all won their openers easily.
Ferghana’s Zilolakhon Yusufova and Shakhina Nematova of Bukhara both were excellent in the youth age group and the first won their elite fight in Tashkent. Namangan’s Munavvar Fozilova also won her contest at the women’s flyweight (52kg) with confidence.
Shakhzod Muzafarov, the former Youth World Champion, kept the focus until the last gong and he eliminated a younger opponent, Mukhammadgiyos Sobutkhanov at the tough bantamweight (54kg) in Tashkent.
Oybek Jurayev achieved a silver medal at the 2023 World Boxing Championships and the 27-year-old boxer returned to the bantamweight (54kg). The Tashkent region’s boxer controlled the first round against Mirzabek Murtazoyev and he finished the job in the second.
Tashkent region’s Sobirjon Tastanov (54kg) and Nodirbek Allaberganov (57kg) both were members of the Uzbek youth national team in 2024 therefore they are the teenagers who need to be watched in the Elite Nationals. Both won their contests on Day3 but Tastanov had to do his very best against Andizhan’s Abdumutal Khabibullayev.
Ferghana’s Mirzabek Mirzakhalilov also had a successful bout at the bantamweight (54kg) in Tashkent where he eliminated Khusniddin Maraimov. His elder brother, the World Champion and ASBC Asian Champion Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov was dominant against a teenage rival, Mironshokh Norkosimov at the featherweight (57kg).
Samandar Olimov was one of the top Uzbek youth boxers in the recent two years and the teenager joined the Elite National Championships for the first time. The Tashkent region’s pugilist had a great start against Namangan’s Yokubjon Tursunboyev while Madiyar Daniyarov also opened well at the lightweight (60kg).
Mujibullo Tursunov is member of the national team since 2021 and his powerful actions shocked Asrorbek Ruzimatov at the welterweight (67kg). The Asian Youth Champion Shavkatjon Boltayev, Shakhboz Yunusaliyev and Asilbek Abdurakhmonov both impressed in this weight class and marched to the next round.
