Mamirjonov and Abdurasulov impressed in the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships on Day2

Further 37 preliminary contests were held in the second competition day of the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships in Tashkent where some of the ASBC medallists impressed in their meetings.

The first competition day of the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships was January 21 and the finals are scheduled to be held on January 28.

The Uzbekistan Elite National Championships is a selection competition for the main events in 2025 which looks another busy year for all of the boxers.

Mukhammadkodir Mamirjonov achieved a gold medal at the 2022 ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships and he is aiming for a title at the men’s flyweight (51kg) in Tashkent. The 21-year-old boxer dominated his contest against Tashkent’s Khusan Korakhudjayev and he managed his pathway to the next stage.

Jahonmurod Imomaliyev competed in ASBC Championships as well but he was not enough successful in the recent years. The 21-year-old boxer moved up to the light welterweight (63.5kg) and he had a stoppage victory over Miron Mullasobirjonov of Dzhizak on Day2.

Khorezm’s Lazizbek Yuldashev is also a good name in Uzbekistan’s boxing life but he suffered a loss to Dzhizak’s Yuldashali Toshpulatov in the next light welterweight (63.5kg) preliminary of the day.

Ferghana’s Khumoyunmirzo Abdurasulov achieved his first international success at the 2019 ASBC Asian Schoolboys Boxing Championships in Kuwait City. He returned with strong results last year and after the first controlled round, he stopped Ravshanbek Mirzabekov in the second to win the fight by RSC.

Gofurjon Tokhirov and Ferghana’s Abdullokh Tokhirov both are competing at the light middleweight (71kg) in this National Championships and the duo advanced to the next round after beating their opponents, Shakhzod Sadullayev and Sirajatdin Khojakhmetov.

Ferghana’s Temur Sobirov has experiences from the previous editions and he won two out of the three rounds against Tashkent region’s Ravshan Soliyev at the cruiserweight (86kg) just short after Ikhtiyor Nurullayev’s walk over victory.

The super heavyweight (+92kg) boxers also started their campaign in the Uzbekistan Elite National Championships and their Ulugbek Shomurodov and Tashkent’s Abdurakhim Jurayev both won their first bouts before the final gong. Another young favourite in this weight class, Ferghana’s Ozodbek Aliyev also won his opener in the Nationals, he outpointed Surkhondarya’s Nurmuhammad Akhmedov.
