Lu Wen Jing used her teammate, the Olympic medallist Chen Nien Chin’s fighting style to dominate the quarter-final

The junior female boxers from Chinese Taipei made excellent competition day in Al Ain today and among them Lu Wen Jing used her Olympic medallist teammate, Chen Nien Chin’s style to win her quarter-final.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are the participating 26 nations in the event.
The 2008 and 2009 born boxers will be able to compete at the junior age group in Al Ain, UAE. Boxers who were born in 2010 and in 2011 will be eligible to participate in the schoolboys and schoolgirls competition.
Kazakhstan’s Junior National Champion Sofiya Vashchenko did not underestimate her rival from Chinese Taipei, Kuo Yung Hsien and she invested a lot of efforts to keep the control throughout the three rounds in the opening bout of the evening session. India’s Shivangi Kachroo won the second contest at the women’s junior lightweight (60kg) today, she eliminated an experienced Ukrainian, Sofia Movchan.
Uzbekistan’s Sevara Mamatova moved up one category to the lightweight (60kg) since her title at the 2023 Junior World Boxing Championships. The 16-year-old Uzbek dominated the first round against Mongolia’s Altanjargal Buyantuvshin and she stopped her opponent in the second with heavy shots. Mamatova, the strong Uzbek punches, has excellent physical skills and she is ready to win her next big junior title in Al Ain.
Kazakhstan’s Junior World Champion Aisulu Mukhit suffered an unexpected loss in one of the preparation tournaments this year therefore she prepared hard to this championship. The 16-year-old Kazakh launched her tough jabs and she looked highly confident against Vietnam’s Nguyen Hong Hai Bang. The Kazakh welterweight (66kg) boxer kept the control of this contest and she joined the last four together with India’s Hanshika.
Khadijabonu Bekova’s elder sister is an elite boxer in Uzbekistan and the 16-year-old girl tried to enjoy her first Asian event against Kyrgyzstan’s Zarina Asanova at the light middleweight (70kg) quarter-final. Bekova was a hard target for the Kyrgyz Junior National Champion and the Uzbek demonstrated her high number of combinations in this contest. India’s Lakshu won the next bout in this weight class, she controlled all of the three rounds against Ukraine’s Ilona Didenko.
Chinese Taipei’s Lu Wen Jing trains with the famous coach, Mr. Ko Wen Ming in the city of Hsinchu and she learnt a lot from their Olympic medallist Chen Nien Chin. Lu moved forward without any stoppage and she landed multiple shots during her attacks against Mongolia’s Enkhgerel Gerelmunkh at the light middleweight (70kg) quarter-final. Lu caught the experienced Mongolian with heavy head blows therefore the Kazakh referee stopped the bout in the first round.
Thailand’s Weeraphat Noksan eliminated a top Kazakh opponent in the Round of 16 and the new pinweight (46kg) star tried to use the same counter-attacking style of boxing against Iran’s Mahdi Rouzbahani. The Thai had excellent footwork but the Iranian found the best weapon against him and Rouzbahani managed his pathway to the semi-finals. Vietnam’s Dinh Vang Van was highly competitive to Uzbekistan’s Khikmatillo Sobirov and the Central Asian had to do show his best to win this contest.
Kyrgyzstan’s Umar Orusbayev received too many punches from Jordan’s Motaz Almashaleh in the first round of their close light flyweight (48kg) quarter-final therefore he had to change his tactics. The Kyrgyz boy performed better in the second round but the final verdict was depended on the last two minutes when Orusbayev landed the better shots. India’s Shubham lost to Iran’s Sahand Najafi in the next quarter-final of this weight class which was the good promotion of boxing.
Ukraine’s Davyd Molodan and Mongolia’s Bayar-Erdene Bayanmunkh met in the battle of the southpaw boxers in the final stage of the evening session. Molodan, whose elder brothers are well-known international boxers, won all of the three rounds in each scorecard and he became the second Ukrainian junior male boy in the semi-finals which means that he can box with Uzbekistan’s Children of Asia Games winner Elyor Rustamov as next.
