The Technical Meeting confirmed the participation of 462 boxers from 26 nations at the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships

Altogether 462 boxers from 26 nations are participating at the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Al Ain, the Technical Meeting confirmed the official figures.    

The Secretary General of the Asian Boxing Confederation Mr. Ali Salameh started the Technical Meeting and he welcomed Team Ukraine in his speech.

Mrs. Liang Yuan is the Technical Delegate of the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships who introduced the competition details, the schedule, the details of the Grand Opening Ceremony, the transportation, the official draw, the key rules, the duties, the equipment check and all other competition related questions.

Mr. Omar Saleh Al-Jaberi, the ASBC Board of Director, had a short speech on behalf of Mr. Anas Alotaiba, the President of the United Arab Emirates. Mr. Bassam Ghanem, the ASBC Competition Manager is also attended in the Technical Meeting.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are the participating nations in the event.

The 2008 and 2009 born boxers will be able to compete at the junior age group in Al Ain, UAE. Boxers who were born in 2010 and in 2011 will be eligible to participate in the schoolboys and schoolgirls competition.

The junior boxers will be able to compete in the following weight categories: 46kg, 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 80kg and +80kg. The schoolgirls and schoolboys categories in both genders will be the 33kg, 35kg, 37kg, 40kg, 43kg, 46kg, 49kg, 52kg, 55kg, 58kg, 61kg, 64kg, 67kg, 70kg and +70kg. The number of the junior boys is 163 which is the highest among the age groups and genders.

The medical examination and the daily weigh-in will take place from 7am until 8am in almost all of the competition days excluding August 31 when the weight-in will be between 6am and 7am. The first competition day is August 29, the bouts will start in one session from 12:00 but there will be two sessions from Day2.

The Grand Opening Ceremony will be held in the competition venue tomorrow on August 29 at 20:00.
