ASBC medallists as Enkhgerel Gerelmunkh and Taivanbaatar Tsogtsaikhan will lead Team Mongolia in Al Ain

Mongolia have registered more than 40 delegation members to the upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships which will open with its first competition day in Al Ain on August 29.
The upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships will be held in Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates between August 27 and September 10 which is the first top event after the Paris Olympics. Two age groups, two genders and Asia’s best 13, 14, 15 and 16-year-old talents will be competing for the 56 available gold medals in Al Ain.
Mr. Dorjpalam Baasandorj is the head coach of their junior, schoolboys and schoolgirls team who has seven assistant trainers to support the work.
Mongolia had national event for these age groups earlier this year and those worked as selections for Al Ain. The Mongolians will host an elite international competition next month which is a new challenge in the boxing agenda.
The Mongolian Olympic Start Championships took place in their capital city in Ulaanbaatar to support their youngest possible talents. The competition was held in two rings in Ulaanbaatar where the number of the female boxers was 46 and record-breaking 381 male talents competed for the medals in that national event.
Their Junior National Championships featured in Umnugovi which hosted the event for the very first time. Umnugovi is an aimag in Mongolia, it is located in the south part of the huge country in the Gobi Desert.
Their best junior boxer, Taivanbaatar Tsogtsaikhan claimed a bronze medal at the flyweight (50kg) in the 2023 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and he turned to 16 this March. Mongolia’s new pride moved up to the bantamweight (54kg) and he has all of the potential to beat the competitors of the top nations.
Odbayar Munkh-Erdene won all of his four contests easily in the Mongolian Junior National Championships and he is a medal favourite at the men’s flyweight (50kg). Batbayar Bat-Orgil (46kg), Baatar Enkhjargal (54kg), Amarjargal Tengis (60kg), and Erdenebulgan Tugs-Erdene (63kg) all have the experience to dream about medals in Al Ain.
Their best female hope, Enkhgerel Gerelmunkh bagged also a bronze medal in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Astana and she is still in this age group. The 15-year-old Mongolian will be aiming for a top result at the women’s junior light middleweight (70kg) in Al Ain.
The multiple National Champion Altanzul Altangadas (46kg), Suvderdene Bayanmunkh (50kg), Aminaa Azjargal (52kg) and Altanjargal Buyantuvshin (60kg) are all have strong potentials in the women’s junior part of the ASBC Championships.
