Uzbekistan prepares to the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships in Yangiabad

Uzbekistan have registered a huge delegation to the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships which will open with its first competition day in Al Ain on August 29.
The upcoming ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships will be held in Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates between August 27 and September 10 which is the first top event after the Paris Olympics. Two age groups, two genders and Asia’s best 13, 14, 15 and 16-year-old talents will be competing for the 56 available gold medals in Al Ain.
Uzbekistan’s boxing team trains in their national camp in Yangiabad where all of the environment and the facilities are world-class.
Maftuna Musurmonova (46kg), Robiya Ravshanova (50kg), Sevara Mamatova (60kg), Aselya Tulegenova (66kg), Khadijabonu Bekova (70kg) and Maftuna Yangiyeva (75kg) all advanced to the finals of the last edition of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Astana.
Among these six girls, Musurmonova, Mamatova and Yangiyeva claimed the titles in the 2023 edition and the trio is aiming for their second Asian titles in Al Ain. The Uzbek female junior boxers all have the routine and the boxing skills to earn top results in the upcoming competition in the UAE.
Islam Salikhov is the biggest name in the men’s junior part of the Uzbek national team, he claimed a gold medal at the 2023 Junior World Boxing Championships. The 16-year-old Uzbek is the main favourite for the title at the heavyweight (+80kg) in Al Ain as well.
Sukhrob Rakhmatullayev (63kg) and Jakhongir Ergashev (80kg) both claimed bronze medals in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Astana last year and both are ready to return to achieve another highlight in their careers.
Their schoolboys are also top talents, their National Championships saw tough battles between the 13 and 14-year-old boys. Their two-time Olympic Games winner Bakhodir Jalolov’s new Boxing Academy will make its debut in the upcoming Al Ain event.
More than 25 countries have registered to the ASBC Asian Junior & Schoolboys & Schoolgirls Boxing Championships and the number of the boxers exceeded 450.
