Mr. Walid Jarrar – “The meeting was fruitful while the championship in Doha is well-organized”
Mr. Walid Jarrar of Jordan is the Chairman of the ASBC Competition Commission who arrived to Doha to a short visit to lead their meeting during the AIBA World Boxing Championships. The ASBC Competition Commission Meeting was opened by AIBA President Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu while ASBC President and AIBA Vice-President Mr. Serik Konakbayev attended in the negotiations of the Commission. ASBC Vice-President and President of the Qatar Boxing Federation Mr. Yousuf Ali Al-Kazim is also took part in the ASBC Competition Commission Meeting in the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena.
Mr. Walid Jarrar replied our questions in connection of the current and future role of the ASBC Competition Commission, the participation of the Asian boxers in the Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships and Jordan’s boxing life.
“This ASBC Competition Commission Meeting was very fruitful as we had a lot of topics and recommendations which we can use in the practice. We have to improve the level of our R&Js and find more qualified ITOs in Asia. We need to support national federations to host boxing competitions and also to participate in the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships in all age groups and all genders.
The Doha 2015 AIBA World Boxing Championships is a well-organized event and we will appreciate the hard work of the Qatar Boxing Federation and its President Mr. Yousuf Ali Al-Kazim. The Asian boxers did their bests in the event in Doha while the atmosphere of the competition was also excellent. We will work harder in the future to promote boxing in our nations more actively.
Regarding the performance of the two Jordan boxers here in Doha our best boxer Ihab Darweish Al-Matbouli was not in best form now while our younger hope Hussein Iashaish was able to win a bout in the Super Heavyweight class (+91 kg) and advanced to the quarter-finals. The size of his body is enough good in this weight class therefore we are thinking to move him down. Important to mention now we have got a good coach Mr. Azzedine Aggoune who has got great plans in Jordan,” said Mr. Walid Jarrar the Chairman of the ASBC Competition Commission.
