Lee, Kamolov, Zeadeh and Park won tight contests in Yerevan on Day2

The second day of boxing saw 30 contests at the IBA Junior World Boxing Championships in Yerevan, Armenia. South Korea, Jordan and Tajikistan were among the winning nations in the second competition day in Armenia.

Boxers who were born in 2007 and in 2008 are eligible to participate in the Junior World Boxing Championships. Afghanistan, Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Qatar, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan sent their boxers from the Asian continent.

The South Koreans had technical difficulties in the previous competitions but their fighting and team spirits are brilliant. Lee Hyeon Min is a quick boxer at the pinweight (46kg) who demonstrated his high number of combinations against Bulgaria’s Kiril Ognyanov, reaching the quarter-finals in this event.

Uzbekistan’s Abdurakhmon Makhmudjonov missed the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana to be fresh enough in this event. The Uzbek pinweight (46kg) boxer had a strong advantage against Moldova’s Roman Spak after two rounds and his longer hands decided their Round of 16 meeting in Yerevan.

Tajikistan has excellent junior team in the smallest weight categories and their Asian Junior silver medallist Jakhongir Kamolov had a very difficult battle against Kazakhstan’s new face in the squad, Aidos Ussenov. The Tajik pinweight (46kg) boxer won two out of the three rounds and these efforts were enough to beat Ussenov in a hectic contest.

India’s Brijesh Tamta earned a gold medal in the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships and he had the speed to gain the control against Poland’s Filip Bochenek in their pinweight (46kg) meeting. The 16-year-old Indian was too experienced for his Polish opponent and he won all of the three rounds in this contest.

Uzbekistan’s Firuzjon Sadullayev impressed in several preparation tournaments this year from Russia to Azerbaijan and he had the strong performance against Guyana’s Tiquan Sampson at the preliminary stage of the lightweight (60kg). The 16-year-old Uzbek saved fuels for the later actions and he had the clear dominance over the South American boxer.

Jordan’s Akram Zeadeh has already international experience and these paid off against Sri Lanka’s newcomer Tuan Murajudeen Aasil in the first round of their lightweight (60kg) contest. The Sri Lankan southpaw was competitive in the second round but Zeadeh had another comeback in the second to win this contest in Armenia.

South Korea’s Park Dam Hyeon lost his first contest at the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Astana one month ago but he taught that lesion well enough and he delivered an enthusiast performance in Yerevan. He had a hard job against a local boy, Hayk Ghahramanyan but he managed to win that contest with his stamina.
