Peng Chia Feng was the star in the last competition day of the Chinese Taipei President’s Cup

The Chinese Taipei National President’s Cup finished in Taichung City where the sixth competition days saw the finals of the younger age groups. Peng Chia Feng was one of the stars of the day, the experienced youth boxer proved world-class performance in the President’s Cup.

The President’s Cup is the most important competition in Chinese Taipei, their national selections from the youngest age groups up to the elites. The former President of the Chinese Taipei Boxing Association Mr. Lee Wu Nan followed all of the bouts in the session and he presented several medals in Taichung City. The Secretary General of the Chinese Taipei Boxing Association, Mr. Johnny Peng also followed the finals today.

Wang You Yun won the first final of the sixth competition day after beating Liu Yi Ting at the women’s high school pinweight (45kg). Hsu Shan Ting was highly confident against Yang Yin Chi in the next female final at the light flyweight (48kg) and she won her next national title in Taichung City after the 2022 edition.

A bronze medallist from last year, Li Yu En was too strong for Chang Chi Yu at the light flyweight (52kg) final and the referee stopped their contest in the third round. Pan Yan Fei won a close battle at the women’s bantamweight (54kg) against Lin Ying Rui and she had another remarkable performance in Taichung.

Liu Pei Ying opened the high school lightweight (60kg) final confident style against Lin Rui Hsin and she proved her strength in the first minute. The referee counted Lin still in the first round but she survived the most dangerous moments and she could fight until the last gong of this final. Liu had the energetic shots in the third round as well and she earned the title of this weight class in Taichung City.

The last year’s silver medallist, Kang Hsiang Chi started well against Zhong Yi Ting at the light welterweight (63kg) but she produced a better second round and she decided their contest in the third. Lin Chi Ling caught her opponent Chang Chi Yi in the second round and she won the women’s light middleweight (70kg) in Taichung City.

Tu Hsu Cheng Yu is a native Taiwanese who tried to reduce the fighting distance from the first seconds against the last year’s bronze medallist Hsu Min Kai. After two rounds in this men’s high school pinweight (46kg) final, the scorecards showed equal results, therefore both of them gave in everything in the last period. Tu finished the last round better than his rival and he claimed the first gold medal among the boys.

Tang En Chun shocked Chiu Hung En in the first round of their flyweight (51kg) final and that determined their final bout in Taichung City. Peng Chia Feng won the minimumweight (48kg) in 2022 but he moved up to the bantamweight (54kg) since the last edition of the President’s Cup. He faced another experienced boxer, Su Wei Hao in the final but his powerful shots stopped his rival and he won the bout by RSC.

Wu Lin Rong Yui was smarter than Chou Pai Chun at the featherweight (57kg) final and he won the next male high school final in Taichung. Su Cheng Che moved down to the lightweight (60kg) this year but the 18-year-old talent was not enough punctual against Tsai Han Ting and he claimed only a silver medal this time. The southpaw Tsai Hsuan Tsun won his next national event after two minutes of fight against Kao Chao Chiang and he earned the title at the busy light welterweight (63.5kg). Chuang Chuan Hong (67kg) and Yu Yi Sheng, the defending champion at the light heavyweight (80kg), dominated their finals in Taichung.
