Strong session for Iran in the male junior quarter-finals

The last part of the junior male quarter-finals was held in the afternoon session of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan on Day5. The Iranians produced their best session in Kazakhstan’s capital, three of their boxers won contests against strong opponents.
Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Palestine, Philippines, Tajikistan, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Yemen are the 22 participating nations in the event.
Alisherov and Durdynepesov were the first winners on Day5
Uzbekistan’s Shokhjakhon Alisherov did not underestimate Hong Kong’s Wong Kei Laam in the first bout of the fifth competition day in Astana. The Uzbek analyzed her opponent well enough during the preliminaries and he had a quick success over the 16-year-old talented boy from Hong Kong. Turkmenistan’s Junior National Champion Dayanch Durdynepesov had a brilliant performance against Iraq’s Yousif Saad in the first round and he used his longer reach effectively in their quarter-final bout. Durdynepesov and Alisherov will be meeting each other in the semi-finals of the junior light welterweight (63kg).
Arvaza and Rostampour are medallists in Astana
Kyrgyzstan’s Akhmadi Arvaza opened the first round slightly better than his Indian opponent, Moirangthem Kabiraj Singh and three judges favored him after two minutes. The Kyrgyz southpaw landed nice left-handed hooks in the beginning of the second round and he tried to gain the control in this hectic quarter-final. Arvaza launched mostly jabs in the last round and he had the stamina in the last period to beat the Indian Junior National Champion. The 16-year-old Kyrgyz will be meeting for the title bout Iran’s Amirmohammad Rostampour who stopped his opponent from South Korea.
Rouzbahani and Gafurov dominated their quarter-finals
Iran’s next boxer in action was Mohammad Saleh Mesbahi Rouzbahani, their most technician junior hopefuls who had a strong start against Jordan’s Nazmi Jaradat in their welterweight (66kg) quarter-final. The Iranian southpaw had smart performance in the first and second rounds and he had the massive advantage on the judges’ scorecards. Rouzbahani did not make any huge risks in the last round and he secured his place in the semi-finals as his teammate, Amirmohammad Rostampour. Tajikistan’s Abubakr Gafurov shocked India’s Lalnanpuia in the next quarter-final in this weight class and he dominated their contest from the first seconds until the last one.
Bekarys Nurmukhan made a great second round against his Korean rival
Kazakhstan’s international tournaments winner Bekarys Nurmukhan and South Korea’s Hong Seo Jin made a fantastic first round at the welterweight (66kg) today. The 16-year-old Kazakh stepped into the gas in the beginning of the second round and he stopped Hong in that period landing heavy shots. Nurmukhan advanced to the semi-finals and he is now a medallist on home soil and he can expect another hard battle in Astana. Nurmukhan’s semi-final opponent will be Kyrgyzstan’s Ramazan Isayev who bowed out his Iraqi opponent, Ahmed Naeem.
Gulomov and Berdaly are the stars at the light middleweight
Uzbekistan’s Mukhammadsaid Gulomov was smaller than Iran’s Mahan Sajedi Jablou but his energetic attacks reduced the fighting distance successfully and his left-handed hooks were dangerous today. Gulomov had more pressure on the Iranian boxer in the second round and he won their quarter-final at the light middleweight (70kg) with powerful combinations. Kazakhstan’s Zhassulan Berdaly also had a great performance today, the 16-year-old boxer eliminated Jordan’s promising hopeful, Yamen Fahmawi.
Ergashev and Pan made strong impressions at the light heavyweight
Uzbekistan’s Jakhongir Ergashev controlled the first and second rounds against South Korea’s Park Dam Hyeon but his opponent was also well-prepared to this championship. The Uzbek boy as all of his teammates, looked very confident and he knew how to beat the South Korean today. Chinese Taipei’s Pan Guan Hao surprised Kyrgyzstan’s Abdurashid Osmonov in the first round with his heavy shots and his speed advantage guaranteed an advantage on the scorecards. Chinese Taipei have never produced such strong boxer in a heavier weight class as Pan Gun Hao who is now a medallist in Astana.
