The Technical Meeting of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships was held in Astana
The Technical Meeting of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships was held in the Duman Hotel in Astana, Kazakhstan today.
ASBC Secretary General Mr. Ali Salameh opened the Technical Meeting with his speech and introduced the officials of the championships.
ASBC Vice-President Mr. Aziz Kozhambetov welcomed all of the teams in the Technical Meeting and underlined that the country is ready to host more international championships in the near future.
Mrs. Sadie Duffy, the Technical Delegate of the championships, informed the teams about all of the necessary tournament information during the meeting.
The Roll Call confirmed the participation of 22 countries in Astana: Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Palestine, Philippines, Tajikistan, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, Turkmenistan, United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Yemen.
Altogether 147 youth men, 73 youth women, 137 junior men and 78 junior women boxers are participating in the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships. The competition schedule has been also confirmed during the Technical Meeting in Astana today.
The daily weigh-in will be held between 06:00 and 07:00am every day, first the boys, then the girls. The Opening Ceremony will take place at 16:00 on October 23 and the Mayor of Astana, the Sports Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been also invited. The 51 finals have been divided into two competition days and will be held on November 2 and 3.
The Bout Review will be done automatically in the youth age group but only on the 3:2 split decisions. The Green Hill is the equipment provider of the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships.
