The female boxers delighted the third competition day at the 23rd edition of the Indonesian President’s Cup in Labuan Bajo where 14 contests were in the schedule. Among the best women boxers in our continent India’s Monika and her teammate Jamuna Boro, Indonesia’s Endang, furthermore South Korea’s Ko Hyun Young impressed on Day3.

Indonesia’s Kapolri Cup silver medallist Endang attended in the last edition of the ASBC Asian Confederation Elite Boxing Championships in Bangkok this April therefore she had enough experiences to beat her teammate Merlin Tomatalla. Endang will be boxing in the final of the light flyweight (48kg) with India’s Monika who claimed silver medal in this year’s Indian Open International Boxing Tournament and outpointed Indonesia’s Angelina Niis in the second semi-final.
Italy’s Giulia Lamagna is member of the national team since 2016 when she was still a youth boxer and after several international competitions she became too experienced to Philippines’ Nice Zzaa Petecio. In another key women’s bantamweight (54kg) bout India’s AIBA Women’s Youth World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Jamuna Boro controlled her fight against Thailand’s ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships competitor Jeerapark Inkam.
Australia’s Carly Salmon competed in all editions of their National Championships since 2013 and finally she claimed the gold a few months ago at the featherweight (57kg). The new Aussie hope was slightly better than Thailand’s Taipei 2015 AIBA Women’s Junior World Boxing Championships bronze medallist Preedakamon Tinthabthai and advanced to the final where she will be meeting with South Korea’s Ko Hyun Young who needed only 111 seconds to beat Macau’s Chan Man Man.
South Korea’s Kim Ju Seong is a well experienced boxer who attended already in the 2010 Asian Games and in the start of the World Series of Boxing as well. The Korean lightweight (60kg) boxer returned to the squad and eliminated Vietnam’s Pham Duc Doan winning the bout by unanimous decision.
Indonesia’s Kapolri Cup winner Gresty Alfons also proved top performance at the men’s lightweight (60kg) and defeated Afghanistan’s Ehsan Mujeebullah in Labuan Bajo. His No.1 teammate Farand Papendang competed in the last three editions of the ASBC Asian Confederation Boxing Championships and also in the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games therefore his success over Australia’s Orion Brown was not a surprise.
