300 talents are attending in the Indian Youth National Championships

The Boxing Federation of India scheduled its first national events in 2021 for their youth and junior talents in order to select the best hopes for the upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships. Haryana region’s Sonepat is the host of the Indian Youth & Junior National Championships which will be held in the second part of the month.

Dubai will be the host of the next ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships which is scheduled to start on August 17. Boxing Federation of India hosts first the youth national event and after that the selection for the junior boxers. The last Indian Youth National Championships was held in 2019 and after two years of break, the event returns to the official agenda of then Federation.

The new weight classes will be introduced in the Youth National Championships, boxers at the 48kg, 51kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5kg, 67kg, 71kg, 75kg, 80kg, 86kg, 92kg and +92kg are eligible to attend in the men’s part of the event. The women’s youth boxers can attend in 12 divisions at the 48kg, 50kg, 52kg, 54kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, 70kg, 75kg, 81kg and +81kg weight categories. Boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 are eligible to attend in the Indian Youth National Championships.

Thirty-two teams registered to attend in the Indian Men’s Youth National Championships where the number of the male boxers is exactly 300. Many of the best Indian regions and cities, including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Chandigarh and others sent maximum number of 13 boxers. The flyweight (51kg) is the most crowded category with 30 boxers on the board but two rounds of preliminaries will be held also in twelve divisions in Sonepat. India shined in the 2019 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Fujairah and many of them will compete in the Youth National Championships. India also proved excellent performance in the Kielce 2021 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships this April and their talents have got strong expectations also in Dubai.
