ASBC WOMEN’S COMMISSION MEETING

The Asian Boxing Confederation Women’s Commission have got qualified members whose boxing is their passion and love. The meeting was led by Mrs. Shelly Miranda of Indonesia but Asia’s icon in women boxing Mrs. Nieva Embuldeniya of Sri Lanka also attended in the discussion. The Asian women boxers claimed five medals in the London 2012 Olympics where the female part of our sport exceeded the previous expectations. A new nation Uzbekistan joined to the international level of women boxing while the sport is in developing stage in most of the affiliated federations. The main mission of the commission is to be increased the number of the women competitions in the continent therefore the ASBC Competition Commission also joined to their meeting. The next ASBC women event will be the 2014 ASBC Asian Women’s Continental Championships before the 2014 AIBA Women’s World Championships which will be hosted the Canadian Boxing Association.
