ASBC appointed its new Commission members
The Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) appointed the new Commission members which are effective from June 1, 2015. ASBC has got Coaches, Competition, Refereeing & Judging, Medical and Women’s Commissions. The new Chairmans of these Commissions are Mr. Patricio Gaspi of Philippines, Mr. Walid Jarrar of Jordan, Mr. Sukku Kang of Korea, Mr. Victor Kim of Kazakhstan and Ms. Liang Yuan of China.
ASBC Coaches Commission Mr. Patricio Gaspi of Philippines is the new Chairman of the ASBC Coaches Commission who was a Welterweight class boxer in the 80’s and now he is the head coach of the strong Filipino squad. Mr. Seungbae Lee of Korea was silver medallist in the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games where he lost to only Kazakhstan’s star Vasiliy Zhirov. Mr. Abdulridha Ali Sabr of Iraq and Mr. Saroj Eamwaranan of Thailand are also new faces in the ASBC Coaches Commission where the professional work is the basic element of the members.

ASBC Competition Commission
Mr. Walid Jarrar of Jordan is the new Chairman in the ASBC Competition Commission who is a very experienced Asian ITO and attended in a lot of international events in the recent years. The number of the Asian boxing competitions need to be increased in the upcoming months before the main qualification events of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The Executive Director of the Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines Mr. Edgar Picson joined to the Commission in 2013 and his experiences will be useful in the work of the Commission. Mr. Bolat Abdrakhmanov of Kazakhstan and Mr. Vong Kuok Veng of Macau are also experienced members of the ASBC Competition Commission.

ASBC Refereeing & Judging Commission
Mr. Sukku Kang of Korea was Supervisor in several international competitions including the last edition of the President’s Cup therefore he was appointed as new Chairman of the ASBC Refereeing & Judging Commission. The former Chairman of the Commission Mr. Mohamed Kamel Shbib of Syria, Mr. Hemantha Weerasinghe of Sri Lanka, Mr. Homayoun Ardalan of Iran, Mr. Wan Abdul Hamid Bin Wan Mahmood of Malaysia and the Secretary General of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Bedaly Alymkulov are very experienced in this area. Their current plan is to complete a list of the active Referees & Judges in ASBC while they have got active members in each region of the continent. The enhancement of the Referee & Judge standard in the Asian Boxing Confederation is a further main project of the commission which has got experienced members.

ASBC Medical Commission
Mr. Victor Kim of Kazakhstan is member of the AIBA Medical Commission therefore his experiences will be effective as Chairman of the ASBC Medical Commission. Mr. Toru Aizawa of Japan. Ms. Liliya Taranyuk of Kazakhstan and Mr. Jiang Liang of China are also experienced members in the medical part of our sport. Their work is productive and one of the most important to save the boxers’s health and safety during the international competitions.

ASBC Women’s Commission
Ms. Liang Yuan of China worked in all of the AIBA and ASBC events in the current Olympic era therefore she was appointed as Chairperson of the ASBC Women’s Commission. Ms. Marina Ni of Kazakhstan and Ms. Maria Karina Picson of the Philippines are experienced and active members of the Commission since 2011. The Asian women boxers claimed five medals in the London 2012 Olympic Games where the female part of our sport exceeded the previous expectations and our continent proved female boxing is a power in Asia.
