The 32nd Southeast Asian Games will start with the preliminaries tomorrow
The boxing event of the Southeast Asian Games began with the Technical Meeting and the Official Draw in Cambodia’s capital. Phnom Penh is the host of the SEA Games for the very first time and the country prepared hard to organize the event in the highest possible level.
Altogether 24 female and 71 male boxers will be competing for the 16 available titles in Phnom Penh. The men’s bantamweight (54kg) and the lightweight (60kg) are the most crowded categories with the participation of 9-9 boxers.
Host Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam are the participating countries in the boxing event of the Southeast Asian Games. The Technical Delegate of the competition is Mrs. Marina Ni from Kazakhstan.
Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam are the top three nations in the Southeast Asian Games but the Indonesians, the host Cambodians built up also strong teams for this event. The host country started a long-term project still in 2017 to get historic boxing results in the Southeast Asian Games.
The boxing event of the SEA Games will open with ten preliminary and quarter-final contests in Phnom Penh tomorrow.

May 6 – Day1 competition with 10 preliminary and quarter-final bouts
May 7 – Day2 competition with 11 quarter-final bouts
May 8 – Day3 competition with 12 quarter-final bouts
May 9 – Day4 competition with 11 semi-final bouts
May 10 – Day5 competition with 11 semi-final bouts
May 11 – Day6 competition with 8 semi-final bouts
May 12 – Rest Day
May 13 – Day7 competition with 8 final bouts
May 14 – Day8 competition with 8 final bouts
