The United Arab Emirates boxing team trains in Morocco before the start of the Asian Games

The United Arab Emirates boxing team has been preparing hard for the upcoming Jakarta 2018 Asian Games where three of their boxers received the right to represent their proud country in Indonesia. Their final training camp is in Morocco where the boxers can prepare together with the strong North African athletes.
Morocco is a boxing power in the African continent and their team could support the developing United Arab Emirates’ boxers in this training camp. The United Arab Emirates boxing team leads by their Uzbek coach Mr. Khasan Mukhamedov in Morocco who is a real enthusiast in our combat sport.
United Arab Emirates boxing team started their road in 2018 with a Cuban training camp in April which supported their preparation before the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and also to the Jakarta 2018 Asian Games.
Their boxers prepared for the Asian Games in Abu Dhabi from July 15 until the 29th and after that the team travelled to Morocco for a joint sparring and training camp which will be held until August 18th. The first competition day in the boxing tournament of the Asian Games is August 24 therefore UAE team will be travelling to Jakarta short after the Moroccan camp.
Sultan Al-Nuaimi (52kg), Majid Al-Naqbi (56kg) and Fahad Hassan (60kg) all won the last edition of the UAE National Boxing Championships and their Uzbek coach selected them to attend in the Asian Games. All of these young boxers will be making their debut in the Asian Games and expecting to raise their international experiences in Jakarta with some surprises.
Nawaf Al-Riyami ranked as No.5 in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and qualified for the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. The 17-year-old light heavyweight (81kg) boxer has been training hard to be there in the Budapest event.

Men’s 52kg: Sultan Al-Nuaimi
Men’s 56kg: Majid Walid Al-Naqbi
Men’s 60kg: Fahad Hassan

The UAE team in the forthcoming Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships:
Men’s 81kg: Nawaf Al-Riyami
