The Boxing Family remembers Mr. Ed Picson

One year is gone. It is hard to believe that one of our good friends, Mr. Ed Picson is not with us in the boxing competitions anymore since last April. The international events are not the same without his work, passion and enthusiasm.

The whole boxing world, the Asian Boxing Family mourned Mr. Edgar “Ed” Picson of the Philippines in 2023 who passed away one year ago at the age of 69 following a serious illness which was his last fight in his wonderful life.

Mr. Ed Picson hold almost all of the possible positions in the Philippines during his exciting boxing career as an official in the recent nearly two decades.

Following his communication and media work, he transitioned to the Association of the Boxing Alliances of the Philippines (ABAP) in the 2000s and he worked there as Secretary General and Executive Director to support the development of the Philippines’ boxing.

He joined the ASBC Competition Commission and he played active roles to take big events such as the Subic Bay 2013 ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships and the Puerto Princesa 2017 ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships.

Mr. Ed Picson worked as the ASBC Communication Director & Spokesperson from April 2022 which position he hold until his death. The Boxing Family will never forget his nice personality and his attitude to our sport.
