Asia’s top youth boxers as Atichai Phoemsap and Damir Toybay were Thailand’s and Kazakhstan’s flag bearers in the Opening Ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games

The third edition of the Youth Olympic Games began with the Opening Ceremony in the Argentinean capital in Buenos Aires with a remarkable show and vision elements. The most exciting part of the Opening Ceremonies are usually the Flag Parade and two of our Asian star boxers as Thailand’s Atichai Phoemsap and Kazakhstan’s Damir Toybay carried the flags of their proud countries.
The boxing tournament of the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games will be starting in seven days only in October 14 and our Asian boxers have got the chance to acclimatize in South America. The finals are schedule in the last two competition days of the whole Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games on October 17 and 18.
Thailand’s Korat-based Atichai Phoemsap claimed gold medal in the Bangkok 2018 ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships and also in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships. The 18-year-old Phoemsap’s previous international experiences paid off this year and in the recent one year he lost only one contest. Thailand’s pride is the main favourite for the gold medal at the men’s lightweight (60kg) in Buenos Aires where he will have five rivals in the division.
Kazakhstan’s Children of Asia Games winner and ASBC Asian Youth Champion 18-year-old Damir Toybay impressed also in the recent two years with strong results. Kazakhstan’s new super heavyweight (+91kg) sensation achieved silver medal in the Budapest 2018 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and he is planning to do revenge and change it to gold in the Argentinean capital.
